I would ask for medical history,take vs,ask if had called family
doctor. Sounds like possible sinus or respiratory infection.

What color is the mucous if and when you blow your nose? Have
you been using any medication to relieve your symptoms? Does
this happen every year? Is this common for you to have these
types of complications? SAMPLE History

Yep every year this happens and always when the weather is like
it right now! Spring like!
GREAT QUESTIONS FROM EVERYONE! The mucus is finally clear after
2 weeks of coughing and the fever is gone...it was a viral
respiratory infection and I am so happy that I am finally
feeling better!
Yes, it really was me!

Did they contact there Dr. ? What color sputum produced by the
cough? Past medical history? Allergies? Are they taking any
prescrbed or over the counter meds. for it?

I would start with a medical history and use SAMPLE. Focus
would be on medications taken to treat these symptoms. Since
five days have gone by, I would assume the condition is
worsening. I would also inquire to any medical intervention, if
any, they have had from the doctor.

full PMH, allergies? vital signs, S/S of a respiratory
infection, productive cough good sign, has pt notified/seen
normal physician, recommend checking with doctor about left over
antibiotics

bsi and perform a complete medical history,a-b-c . ask if there
has been any other symptons. Ask if the condition has gotten
better or worse, green in color could mean an infection going
on.
