Just to put it in perspective for some of you...
I currently have the highest post count, and while making the
asterisk area will certainly hurt my post count, possibly even
putting me behind others, I fully support this change. I'd much
rather look at my post count and think that most of my count is
made up of thoughtful, worthwhile posts rather than nonsensical
talk of bathtubs and oversized chipmunks. Even if this change
put me in last place for post counts, I'd be glad for it.

I agree. It's pretty hard to write long posts using asterisks
(at least in my opinion) so it would make sense that they don't
count. The Asterisk Area seems (again, to me) to basically be an
Entertainment & Off-Topic for role-playing. I have a very bad
feeling that people might get mad at me over these comments . .
.
On another subject, Cyclone brought up something that I had been
thinking about also, namely that "many boards have become
inactive, and . . . the average post count, both per month and
per day, has decreased drastically." I believe that the main
reason is that there are not enough people. It is to be expected
that members will be missing from time to time (I, myself,
couldn't access the internet for 3 days) so to counter this we
must recruit more committed members (not like half of the
members here, who have posted a few posts, and then left). You
may know where I am headed with this. K00's suggestion has been
put off too long! I propose that we plan an invasi . . . I mean
. . . 'mission' to the Fallen London forums! I will start
immersing into the culture there immediately. If anyone wishes
to join me, they are welcome.
Please note that I (and I suggest others as well) will not
contact anyone there about Inrazimad yet, but will just mingle
with the community, until I receive permission from the HC.

People headed over there months ago. Do not take my word for it,
but I'm pretty sure it was already approved, even welcomed.
To be frank, the game and the forums, especially the forums,
were quick to bore me.

For someone like me, I never obeyed that four line rule.
Asterisks is meant to be quick. Obviously, being one of the most
active asterisk person (in turn uffering the most damagee) I
don't support the changes, but then I remember that the changess
are basically useless. Changing post count? When did post count
ever mattered?
I could go on, but I'm on the kindle. So to sum up, I don't
think this strangly worded 'update' will provide much.

Well...
Why do I feel like I'm sort of responsible for this?
When Cyclone first decided to create a separate AA board, I was
the one that suggested he kept the posts there as counting.
But now it's being changed and people are upset over it, I can't
help but feel slightly guilty...

Eh, it would've been changed regardless. If it weren't for
objections to it, the change would have been made sooner, so it
really makes no difference. This way, we at least get to discuss
it a bit. I think this is a better time to make the change, so
if anything, you may have helped us to do it right.

Well, I suppose that there's no way of telling what it'll have
looked like if we didn't try. So I sup[pose this way is for
better.
And I am wondering exactly how much our post counts will drop...
