Michael stood uncertainly, it was clear that the others had no
intention of going inside just yet. He searched for a
conversation he could find his way into before he realised that
there was already one presenting itself. He patting his hand
down firmly, but not too forcefully, upon Hannibal's shoulders.
"Good man."
He removed his arm from Hannibal's shoulder, noticing the smile
on his face. "Someone you know?" He asked, politely, gesturing
at Alexei. "It seems we're full of reunions today..." He said,
innocently. After a moment he spoke, the words he just said sunk
in and a stabbing pain presented itself in the bottom of his
heart. Michael managed to maintained the smile but it was
evidently forced.

"Aye, sur, that man Alexei, unless I be much mistaken, we served
together previously."
Hannibal noted the strange change in the Captain's mood. Having
served before, Hannibal had lost many a strong brother in arms.
He didn't know whether this was what caused such a swing in his
superior's mood, but he figured it best not to pursue the
subject.
Instead, he decided to make a move towards the dining room, as
this was evidently where the captain was trying to get everyone
to move to, albeit unsuccessfully. The smell of delicious
perforated his nostrils as he approached the table, and he
decided then and there that he would eat as much as he could.
Excellent meals such as this were few and far between in the far
reaches of space, and although Hannibal could cook quite well,
goodness knows what sort of weird ingredients they had up there.

"Then good evening, Ms. Rivas," Alexei replied with the
slightest nod of his head, "It is a pleasure to make your
acquaintance. Thank you for your praise — I find it rather
enjoyable to take the arrogance out of such narcissists."
He smiled slightly, before replying to Hayden's last question.
"I am Alexei Vasilyev, but I will say no more."
He glanced to the left, noticing the captain unsuccessfully
attempting to usher the crew into the dining hall. One man moved
towards the entrance to the room, still unnerving Alexei with a
familiarity that he knew he should recognise. Perplexed, Alexei
turned back to Hayden, intending to move into the dining room
and resolve the bewildering, unrecognisable acquaintance with
the man. He gestured to the doorway in front of him, clearly
relaying his question.
"Shall we, Ms. Rivas?" he inquired, taking half a step forward
as he waited for Hayden to respond.

Seven oh-two.
Damn, the maglev had been late. The station he got off, didn't
have a taxi rank either. The Chinese briskly walked down the
street, with a straight back. His features exposed by the harsh
street light. He entered the lobby and the receptionist straight
away recognised the uniform.
"The last one. And late too."
It didn't matter. While others may have judged, he didn't. He
preferred to fully understand a person before judging them. As
he continued walking, he prepared himself to meet his crew.
This was the first time he was serving on with a team. His old
job at the Rediquat Seedy Space only had him working from a
hanger. Well, before it blew up to the Pipin anyway. He still
had his 'Grand Engineer' certificate, allowing him all access
and on house orders to all Seedy Space Bars in the Galaxy. He
pushed open the doors and entered the room.
By instinct, he quickly surveyed everyone in uniform. The
Captain, a drunk (wait, was that an engineering badge on his
uniform?), a female medics (stereotypes these days...), a
Russian, a Scott, the First mate and another with a gunner
uniform. Seven? Well then, he wasn't the last one.
He walked up to the group. They all seemed to be chatting.
Didn't matter. Augustine stood and waited, looking occupied. The
Captain began ushering everyone into the dining hall. Augustine
silently followed.

"Of course," Hayden nodded, following after Alexei into the
dining room. There was already somebody inside; the red-haired
Scottish that entered the Rux Galactica only moments after
herself and Killian, she noticed. She glanced over to her
companion who had obtained a slightly confused air about him,
and then to the Scottish again. "So what is your role on the
Brave, Mr. Vasilyev?"
They were veering towards the other man now, she noted in the
back of her head. Which meant that Alexei was likely to want
some conversation with said other man, whom Hayden suspected was
the cause for his confusion. She looked around the room again,
noticing that several other crewmembers had also begun filing
into the dining room, including another newcomer with an Asian
appearance.
How quaint, she thought to herself. She hadn't noticed him enter
the restaurant, and not many seemed to have supplied a great
deal of interest in him. Blinking, Hayden turned back to face
Alexei as he began speaking again.

Naturally, it took time for everyone to come inside and sit down
before finally settling. The evening was pleasant so far, save
for the brief confrontation between Killian the Alexei. Might as
well, Michael thought, the drunk needs to get used to following
orders... But the situation was minor, and Killian hadn't
retaliated.
The room itself was well lit by a dozen decorative candles and
fancy ceiling lights. Pictures of famous people and places hung
from the walls and an enlarged photo of Niagara Falls was the
centrepiece of the rear wall, where the Captain and First Mate
would sit. The carpet added softness to the room and ensured
that bare feet patrons would not have to endure a cold floor
during the winters. A large window over looked the famed
waterfall itself and provided excellent lighting during the day,
but as of now it was night and the Falls were barely visible.
However, the window was open and the faint rush of the waterfall
was audible to the ear, bring with it a sense of calm and ease.
As of now, the crew was settled and some have taken an interest
in the food. Others are looking forward to the drinks. Or
rather, what type of drinks. But most of the people were just
happy to be able to socialise.
Presently, Michael found himself more inclined to talking, he
wasn’t hungry. But he did fancy a cup of coffee. He always
fancied a cup of coffee. He stood, pushing his chair back
lightly as he rose and headed for the table with the drinks.
“Anyone fancy a cup of coffee?” He asked with a
smile.

Augustine urges for coffee and conversation egged him to accept
the offer. He would look at the complimentary blueprints on the
table later. He raised his hand and said "Yes please". His voice
was quiet, so anyone else wouldn't hear, except the captain. He
had perfected that skill quite a while ago.

Finnigan looked in a shop window as he briskly walked by. Seeing
his reflection, he smirked a bit. Me beard is lookin' sharp as
usual. Finnigan was far from a narcissistic man, but he took
great pride in his beard.
Finnigan quickly rounded the block and approached the Rux
Galactica. A wee bit fancy for a simple lad loike meself,
Finnigan thought. He entered the building and headed directly
for the back of the restaurant, nodding his head in greeting at
the staff. Finnigan had never been to the Rux Galactica before,
but he had an uncannily excellent sense of direction, so he did
not need assistance from the staff to find his way. He found a
dining room with members of the Brave settling in it. As he
crossed the threshold, he opened his mouth and addressed the
entire group in a deep voice embellished with a thick Irish
accent.
"Apologies for arrivin' late! They jist don't make clothin' dat
fit tren av me size, an' de tailor wus a wee slow wi' fixin' it.
Oi jist picked 'er up."
A man, a wee shorter than himself, caught his eye almost
immediately. The man looked remarkably similar to Finnigan. The
two even had the same beard cut. Finnigan was awestruck by the
similarities, so much so that his attention was directed
entirely to this man as he neglected to greet the other members
of the crew individually.
" 'ey! Who is dat 'andsum divil?" Finnigan asked with a cheeky
grin starting to form on his face.

Killian watched as a new, burly, bearded man entered. He liked
the look of this bloke immidietley and wanted to introduce
himself, but before he could the man had already sparked up
chatter with 'Hannibal Patter-whats' as he was now known to
Killian. The two looked strangely similar and Killian couldn't
help but consider answering when the man asked about a handsome
devil - that was him, afterall. But he refrained, hoping he
would soon get a chance to offer him a drink.

As they were directed into the dining hall, Alexei was caught by
the magnificence of the room. Lit by candles and imposing
chandeliers on the ceiling, the room was filled with several
pictures of famous historical figures — all outshone by the
large photo of Niagara Falls at the rear, as well as the
enormous bay window that opened out onto the twilit falls
themselves.
Still rather bewildered, Alexei deigned to sit down politely
rather than strike up idle conversation with the red-haired
Scot, choosing the seat next to Hayden before regaining control
of his features and answering her question. "I am the helmsman
on the Brave, so one must hope that I do not drink more than my
fill of liquor this evening, lest we shall plough into the
ground tomorrow," he explained, with only the slightest traces
of a smile playing upon his lips, "What is your own role on the
vessel, if I may ask?"
As the rest of the crew filed into the dining room, Alexei's
gaze was drawn to the drinks that he had warned himself against.
Soon, however, the captain stood up from his position at the
head of the table and asked if any of the crew present would
like a cup of coffee. Despite his own liking for vodka, Alexei's
true drinking passion laid with the caffeinated liquid that had
helped him through his studies both in the aeronautical
universities in Russia, as well as the Royal Air Force in
England.
Alexei raised his voice from the normal, conversational tone he
was using with Hayden, and called across the table to Michael in
a volume that was loud enough for the captain to hear, but not
so loud as to disturb the rest of the crew, "I would not mind a
mug myself, thank you."
Whilst he waited for Hayden to carry the conversation along,
Alexei glanced down the table, noticing the arrival of a new
guest, a slight and small Asian fellow who seemed to be as quiet
and reserved as he possibly could be. Before Alexei could
observe the remainder of the company, however, a large man
arrived quite abruptly, speaking over the throng of conversation
with a loud voice that was unmistakably Irish. Unashamedly
sonorous, the Irishman explained his absence as the fault of his
clothing, which had obviously been altered to fit his massive
frame.
Despite his accent, the man looked eerily similar to the
Scotsman already in the room, and Alexei's mind remained
perplexed as he stared at the man's easily recognisable face,
but unfamiliar voice.
" 'Ey! Who is dat 'andsum divil?" the newcomer asked in the same
deep baritone, and as Alexei followed the Irishman's gaze, his
eyes lit up on the red-haired Scotsman, seated almost directly
across the table
Only half a second later, Alexei's mind clicked and a look of
understanding, surprise and happiness passed across his face as
he finally recognised the familiar, unrecognisable face as his
that of friend and former comrade, Hannibal Patterson, fellow
weapons officer in the Royal Air Force. Grinning as he recalled
their service together, Alexei ignored proper table manners as
he leaned forward slightly as he spoke to his friend.
"Hannibal!" he said, the grin plastered on his face, "How long
has it been?"
