[KKRPKK] The FED-6285 Brave

“Welcome aboard, soldiers, and Merry Christmas to you all. It
is a pleasure to be serving with you, especially in the great
time of need as it is now. Mother Earth and humanity itself is
at risk. Do what you can, for the people back home. Fight for
those who cannot. We must stand together, band together, and
fight together. All is at risk.” – Mark Thames, General Marshal
of the FED Starfleet, 25th December 2060.
In summary:
The Year is 2061.
The Pipin are attacking the FED.
Bilbo and Pillow Land are ready to help the FED fight against
the Pipin.
You are a crewmember of the FED ship ‘FED-6285 Brave’ which is
stranded behind enemy lines.
If you’re really that bored, read the full story below.
[spoiler= The Whole Story]
The Year is 2061.
The Federation of Earthen Domain has expanded beyond the known
quadrant and has begun a series of projects to terraform planets
“For the good of the human race and future generations to come”,
with a total of 268 planets due to be colonized, terraformed and
eventually permanently settled “For the good of all sentient
species in existence.” (Tell that to the defenseless, little
aliens they ‘purged’ to claim those planets).
Of course, such a project requires a massive amount of
resources, resources which the FED simply doesn’t have. So the
FED offered to trade for resources with the planet Bilbo (One of
the few unconquered planets in the quadrant). Bilbo didn’t even
consider the suggestion and rejected the trade agreement
immediately.
This may have been the fact that Bilbo sees no value in the
little bits of paper the FED offered in exchange for metal ores
(Bilbo has no currency to speak of). Or maybe it was because
Bilbo doesn’t mine minerals from the planet and so has nothing
to trade. Or maybe it was because Bilbo’s plastic recipe was a
jealously guarded secret and they didn’t want the FED to reverse
engineer the material.
Whatever the reason was, Bilbo has rejected the offer and that
was final. Enraged, the FED declared war and mobilized all its
fleets. The sight of a fleet thrice the size of the FED fleet
defending the planet Bilbo forced the FED to reconsider its
tactics. Soon, the entire Starfleet was mustered into action and
all sent to Bilbo.
Perhaps the FED was a tad too hasty, for another inter galactic
empire laid its eyes on the now defenseless FED. Pipin fleets
(Yep, they are back) quickly took over the majority of the outer
colonies. The FED was all too happy to call (temporary) peace
with Bilbo and pull Starfleet back to defend its borders.
The FED was delighted to receive news that Bilbo and its allies
will support them against the Pipin. They cracked out starmaps
and began to plan a series of operations to defend its borders
and reclaim its lost territory. Meanwhile, The FED Secret
Service planned out ‘Operation Spacelion’, a large scale
invasion of Bilbo (After all, they assumed that Bilbo will be
significantly weakened by the Pipin).
The FED-6285 Brave was one of the many ships of the FED
Starfleet that got lost, accidentally left behind or outright
abandoned. The Brave must now find a way to get back to known
space before the Pipin fleets find them.

Rux Galactica
Michael stood by the doorway leading into a well lit interior
where the twelve few crew will dine for perhaps the last time on
Earth. His expression, a friendly smile, of sorts, masking his
uncertainty. All he received was a short roll of all members of
his crew; names and faces. Nothing more. As a result, he was
unsure if he'll be able to recognise them once they turned up at
the party. If they will even turn up in the first place, that
is...
He looked down at his new uniform, marvelling at the fine needle
work. Obviously is was produced by machines rather than by hand.
The symmetry of the golden buttons could simply not be achieved
by hand. He reached up and adjusted the decadent cap and
smoothed out the ripples in the elegant jet black jacket.
Resuming his unmoving stance and mile-long stare, he stood with
military discipline, gazing at the grand entrance of the Rux
Galactica.
He was here early, like all hosts should be. And right now, with
nine minutes left, the crew should be turning up by now...

Ella entered the grand doors of the Rux Galactica. She was in
her mess dress, the commander's cap in her hands. Her hazel
brown hair brushed out neatly and fell freely behind her
shoulders. She wore no make up, she didn't like the stuff and it
usually did nothing for her. She hesitated by the door, unsure
of where to go from here.
She smiled as a clerk, recognising her uniform as that of the
FED Starfleet's, directed her to Michael. She thanked the clerk,
who simply bobbed his head and left them. Unsure of how to
address her captain - If the blond man before her even was the
captain - she simply came to a stiff salute.

Killian didn't enter the building just yet. He sat round the
corner, bottle of alcohol in hand, muttering under his breath
something about the weather. Every few minutes, he would pull
his head back and open his mouth, gulping down some beer and
swishing it around his mouth a bit before swallowing. He wanted
to savour this taste, because he feared the alcohol onboard
would not compare to this. There had been many rumours he and
his friends had joked about previously that now became a reality
to him, something he dreaded with his entire being.
He heard murmurs from round the corner as some of the crew
entered; Killian got up, struggling to find his balance for a
second but then charging forwards, limping slightly with his
makeshift prosthetic leg that closely resembled an upside down,
wooden wine bottle. He halted for a minute, heaving a sigh and
walking back to pick up his knee-high boots which he then
stuffed over the top of both feet. He always hated the formal
dress, but he needed to make a good impression.

Hayden slid out of the expensive car as gracefully as she could
in heeled boots, and breathed a sigh of relief when she realised
she had managed to make it out of the rather cramped space
without falling on her face. She didn't look back at the vehicle
as the butterfly doors closed, but instead looked at the
restaurant before her in a somewhat critical manner. The Rux
Galactica was a neat-looking establishment; able to compete with
some of the more expensive places she'd dined at.
The last time I'd dine here on Earth for a very long time, she
thought wryly to herself. The convertible behind her revved to
life again and began to exit the way it had entered, leaving
Hayden standing a fair bit away from the Rux Galactica. She
fixed her dark-coloured blazer and took another deep breath
before making her way towards the restaurant.
Her uniform had arrived a while ago, and she had taken a liking
to the rather trim outfit almost immediately. She had the option
of wearing it to the Banquet, but after a bit of thought, opted
for the other option of casual-formal wear which consisted of a
comfortable blue and grey dress with a simple blazer and ankle
boots of the same dark colour; a great deal less formal than her
usual attire when attending formal events. It was her last day
on Earth after all; she had plenty of time to wear her uniform
in space anyway.
As she neared the establishment, she spotted a man to the side
of the entrance with what seemed like a bottle in hand. He was
wearing one of the uniforms of the Brave, and Hayden couldn't
help but feel slightly thrown off. If most of the crew acted
like a drunkard . . .
She shook the thought away and continued towards the entrance of
the Rux Galactica, attempting to ignore the other crewmember.

As Killian got up, he was delighted to see a woman coming
towards him, though she seemed to be almost avoiding him. He
straightened, flashing a grin and nodding to her, but she didn't
seem to catch his eye. "Good day to you, miss!" he cried
cheerily, but still she did not turn her head. Looking down at
the bottle in his hand, he hid it behind his back though he knew
he wouldn't hide it for long and took a few great strides
towards her. "Ello", he said again, examining her figure.

Hayden halted as the unknown man neared her, and turned to look
at him. He was fairly tall, with dark hair, and she would've
said he was handsone if it wasn't for the fact that she was
beginning to feel uncomfortable under his gaze. She maintained a
blank face regardless, and raised an eyebrow at him
questioningly.
"Evening," she replied in a polite tone, as her upbringing had
taught her to do since she was yet a young child. "You're a
member of the Brave, yes?"
Of course he was. He was wearing the uniform after all, and why
else would he be standing outside the Rux Galactica if he wasn't
attending the Goodbye Earth banquet before boarding the Brave?
Hayden mentally winced at herself but didn't say anything else.

Killian flashed another grin, revealing his gleaming white teeth
despite the habit of drinking so much alcohol. He laughed at her
question, thinking it would already have been pretty obvious by
his wardrobe choice. "No, I'm part of an alien race here to rob
you of all your money", he chuckled, admiring his own sense of
humor as he did so. He held out his firm hand in greeting,
"Killian, miss! And what might be the name that follows after a
beautiful lady such as yourself?" he asked, trying to sound
completely sober, even though the slight slurr of his words made
his accent sound rather off-putting.
As he asked, he began moving towards the Rux Galactica, feeling
that it would be best if they were on time to the event; after
all, there was more beer to be found!

Hayden's expression did not change as she shook Killian's hand,
and forced out a reply as politely as possible. "Hayden Rivas,
I'm also a member of the Brave."
She noticed the other member had already turned back around to
face the direction of the restaurant, and she did likewise. Her
pace matched Killian's as he started towards the Rux Galactica,
and she quickly racked her mind for a quick conversation
starter.
"So what exactly is your role on the Brave?"

Killian longed to begin telling Hayden about all his daring
adventures, but he chose to stick the topic she had chosen for a
bit, jobs aboard the Brave. "I'm an engineer - though I'd really
prefer to be a gunner. I was a gunner on my last ship; blasted
about 10 heads off in the first day! I was the best gunner on
there." he remarked, hoping to be able to continue talking about
his skills. Killian found himself constantly looking back at his
fellow crew member, thinking of something cheesy to say, but
nothing came to him just yet. He would be patient and wait for
the right moment, he told himself. Timing is everything.
As they headed inside to the main hall, Killian was surprised to
see the fancy setting they were now in. He held onto his nearly
empty bottle tightly, fearing he would not be allowed to keep it
with him. A man dressed in very formal attire approached them,
recognizing Killian's uniform and gesturing towards a hallway
that would lead to their Goodbye Earth banquet.
