"TLDR" essentially translates to "an abbreviation" or "a shorter
version;" an explanation of the subject that's more
straightforward and to the point, but still contains the
       relevant information.
To answer Neamhain's request; if you want more detail for FTL
than what Tux has already given you, you'll either have to read
through it or watch a YouTube video or two on it. As for
       Artemis, I've no clue.

Okay, I think I get the gist of it. I'll sign up for the RPG,
but don't expect anything much from me; I have limited knowledge
of all that space-y stuff you people seem to use often on the
       Return of the Pipin Thread.
       Name: Hayden Rivas
       Age: 20 Earth years
Appearance: Hispanic, almost Asian-like. Roughly around 5'7, a
somewhat slim build, sharp facial features, dark hair roughly up
to mid-back, and a fairly light skin tone, though it would still
       be considered tan.
       Gender: Female
Nationality: Human - Born in Spain, though family heritage leads
       back to Thailand.
       Qualification: Medic, Messenger
       Preferred Rank: None
Short Biography: Born in warm Santander, Spain, Hayden had no
       struggles with money, or making friends during her childhood;
but was often kidnapped and held for ransom because of her
family's wealth. Being one to over-achieve, she took advantage
of her family's over-abundance in money and learnt multitudes of
languages; six of which she could speak fluently by the time she
was sixteen, the rest being several languages she managed to
pick up here and there as her friends and parents travelled the
world frequently. This helped her a great deal when meeting new
people, and combined with her already amiable personality, she
easily made friends with colleagues or previously-made
       acquiantances.
She'd also practised multiple fighting arts such as Taekwondo
and Muay Thai; a sport that her grandmother on her mother's side
had convinced her to take up when she was 8. Only weeks after
Hayden had turned 12, she began learning how to use a variety of
firearms and melee weapons and continued to do so for several
years. By the time she was 18, Hayden was able to take on four
trained bodyguards at one time, and had picked up many skills in
the medical field from different cultures around the world,
which she looked into further during the next 18 months. Two
months after her 20th birthday, positions on the FED-6285 Brave
were open, and Hayden applied for the more simple roles of Medic
       and Messenger.
       - - -
Likes: Reading, sleeping, but mainly socialising and learning
       practical skills that gives Hayden a higher chance of survival;
a mentality that had been drilled into her from a young age by
her parents, and from her own experiences.
Dislikes: Surprises, weird unknown objects or substances, people
who don't try hard enough, sashimi.
Fears: Feeling helpless and Vendetta masks - a fear that had
been instilled in her because the people behind her first
kidnapping - when she was barely four - had worn them.
Abilities: Hard to get a rise out of, stays generally calm and
thinks quickly in difficult situations, fast reflexes.
       Religion: None.
Sexuality: Heterosexual, though on the verge of demi-sexuality.
(I don't see what this has anything to do with RP-ing. Are
people going to start hooking up?)

       Okay. Here's how It'll work;
Screw the deck officers and I'm cutting the crew size down by

You can have double-ups, but only one major qualification and
       one secondary qualification.

Right, FTL is a top-down roguelike spaceship game where you
control a small handful of crew members and try to complete a
       major mission.
Artemis is a spaceship bridge simulator where every player have
their own separate computer, to simulate a workstation, and they
each get their own interface, determined by their workstation.

That's okay. If you were playing the engineer, you'll have to
know all about engines, hydraulics, electricity, etc.
A medic only has to know how to keep someone alive, so as to
       speak.
As for their sexuality, no (at least I hope not), people are not
going to start 'socialising in the bedroom'. I just added that
is for the sake of a more realistic experience. For example, if
your character only works well with people of their own
sexuality and they just happen to be homosexual. We will have
people start developing relationships, as in colleagues and
comradery. Unless, of course, you really want to then there will
not be any 'hooking up'. But then again, I'm not sure Karin and
Sandra would want to read that, eh?

Indeed. Now, before I iron out my character and throw the
application at you, I'd like to ask what the situation is
regarding the captaincy and helmsman and/or pilot position is.
Now, I'm aware that your character is the Captain, but does that
entail the piloting as well, or is that simply in regards to the
       command of the whole ship?
If the "pilot" position is open, I'll probably opt for that –
or, failing that, I'll go for one of the Lieutenant positions,
or Chief of Navigation. However, just because I don't want to
horrendously mar the application process, can you give me a
       rundown of those positions too?
