I know about that. Are you implying that you manually created
the glare with different colors, or did you do it another way?
From his post, I'm discerning that he made it with just paint.
Unless he used an outside program, or spent a ton of time on it,
I'm clueless as to how he did it.

Manual creation.
I used only paint.
Spend 10 man-hours on it spread over 5 days.
It'll take me about five hours to make a decent piece of work,
but only because the assets I usually need are so obscure that I
won't find 'em, or their backgrounds aren't transparent, so I
can't use them.
Will that include time spend on procrastination?

Of course it will.

I was hoping someone would make this thread.
I like drawing, but I never seem to have the time for it, so my
skills are rudimentary at best. I might post a picture of some
roses I drew my mother last Mother's Day.

Here it is:

The lighting is cruddy, so I couldn't capture the shading that
well on the left rose and a few minor parts.
You may notice a patch on the bottom right of the paper. That's
there because I covered up my signature.

That's amazing. I'm planning to do a bit of extra drawing over
the holidays with still life (I'm eyeing the little vase of
withering roses across the room right now), so I'm hoping to get
a bit of practise in with shading and all.

So much better...

Woot! I drew something

that's actually decent. I'll probably
just name it after one of my OCs and call it a day.

Personally my drawing skills come in when I get to computer
programming and the like. I can draw quite well with JavaScript,
much better than I can with a pencil! XD

I went cherry picking today, and that inspired this

I need to work on my shading.

The shape of the hand is very good. It seems like you like to
draw hands a lot.
