black people use the hashtag on social media '#f*ckparis'
because they're claiming 'we get killed everyday and nobody
gives a damn' which is not true. People are claiming its karma
for the slave trade, and that more should have died because
apparently black lives don't matter... It's really heartbreaking
to hear people think like that, when black lives do matter and
situations that disrespect black people are dealt with firmly
these days... No matter, they are being hypocritical anyways
because they are disregarding the lives of hundreds whilst
claiming they themselves are disregarded...

I think we can all learn from here not to be too quick to speak
out like that. The last thing anyone of us wants to be called is
a hypocrite.

A minority of people who are classified as minorities do that.
Whatever they claim is a wrongdoing done upon them, they
willingly accept when it is done to others. They say that they
are being discriminated against, but most of that discrimination
comes from them segregating themselves to gain attention and
sympathy.

Mmm...
I have another topic to discuss. Refugees! Specifically the
Syrian Refugee Crisis. Are you guys for or against it, and what
are your thoughts?

I do not think that any country should be obliged to let in any
people or refugees. I'm sure it's not especially delightful for
those refugees to be stuck where they are, but it's also not
especially delightful for a country have their people killed by
letting in a terrorist. Given this, I'm not especially sure on
how I feel about letting refugees in. I think each country
should be allowed to make that decision without any pressure
being put on them. If I was in charge of a country, I would not
let them in unless they had no place to go and all other places
were firm in their decision to not let more refugees in.

I agree. I would probably give them shelter, food, and maybe
money to support themselves, but they couldn't come in.

International aid never helps if the situation is bad enough
that they leave their homes.
I would let refugees in but put them in institutions for a
while. Say a month or two. This should help regulate the amount
of refugees in society but I don't think that'll be sufficient
at keeping out terrorists.

I have a large opinion piece I must write about refugees right
now. Cuz it's due tomorrow.
Plus I always thought of philosophy just as that elective I
chose.

I don't find it fair that we are letting in how many thousand
refugees, when the government should take a look at our own
farmers for instance - some of them are really struggling and
the last thing they need is more demand for food. I don't have a
problem with refugees for the most, until they start trying to
change the countries they come to. Australia is a multicultural
country, if you are going to come here, you'll have to learn to
tolerate other people's traditions and beliefs whilst they
tolerate yours. I get that they are innocent people, trying to
flee a war-stricken country and find a place where they can
raise their family in safety and peace. But there are other
people waiting for housing, the suburbs they're gonna move into
are already full enough... Surely out of those 12,000 refugees,
one of them is going to be a terrorist... I feel like
continually letting these refugees in is like welcoming the
demise of a multicultural nation; letting them turn it into the
places they came from, war-stricken and troubled...
I'm tired and it's late so that post is probably quite risky to
make, as I'm sure I've worded something incorrectly in there and
made it sound rude. I hope nobody takes offence to it, I'll take
a look tomorrow and hope I didn't stuff up... XD

I never really thought of it that way, but you do have a point.
By letting refugees in, you are letting a whole new group of
people with their own beliefs in. There is a group of them, so
they have the power to not accept other cultures. They can
change the overall culture and atmosphere of a country as well
as make a large impact on the government.
You need to not worry about offending people so much. You often
make good points, but by writing that you might have "worded
something incorrectly" or "made it sound rude," you are
devaluing your opinion. Sometimes it's better to make your
statement and let people react how they will. Unless, of course,
it's something extremely controversial and you know people will
be offended (like telling someone all of their beliefs are wrong
whether they're prolife beliefs or Jewish beliefs).

Haha, thanks for that. :) I can see how it would be better to
simply state an opinion sometimes, you're right.
