Announcement V – "You
Call That A Revamp?"
Welcome back to the forum, Inrazimadians! So, it's been quite a
while – seven or eight days, in fact. However, it might have all
been worth it, for, at the end of this long changelog, you'll be
wondering how we ever called the last update a Revamp. We've got
many changes, many updates and quite a few new quirks to
explain.
Let's get into it, then!
Seven Days!
So, before we jump into the other features of the recent
maintenance, I'd first like to address the awfully long
maintenance times you guys had to endure. Simply, I'd like to
apologise for the seven-day wait for an active forum.
I stated in the scheduling announcement that I'd be working
overnight – in retrospect, that was a truly horrible idea. I got
quite a bit of work done in the first few hours, but, by three
in the morning, I was too tired to continue. By doing this, I'd
also thrown my sleeping pattern way out of order and my fatigue
continued throughout most of the day.
The following day, there were no available time slots for me to
get any considerable work done; I got some minuscule updates
done, but nothing more. To make matters worse, my internet went
down on Monday and stayed down until late Wednesday night. I've
been so short on time this week that I've had to do significant
amounts of work yesterday and tonight just to get everything up
and running.
However, my original warning still stands; I've explained
myself, so there's no need for complaints, and, after other
maintenances, I'm not eager to face them again.
Fonts, Faces and Colours
Whilst waiting for the forum to reopen, you probably noticed
three things – the larger, circled Inrazimadian triquetra, the
bright green colour scheme, and the equally as green forum
heading.
Now, only one of these things is particularly interesting – the
latter. The distinctive, bold heading gives the forum a unique
look, and will continue to exist, conforming to the forum's
colour schemes throughout the year, so expect a vibrant range of
headings – red, orange, blue, purple and a whole lot more.
On a slightly less enrapturing note, the colour scheme and
layout of the forum will be occurring far more frequently from
now on. We're ten months into our [s]conquest[/s] journey across
the internet, and we've not yet used all of the colours
available. Of course, we're not going to release an official
"Colour Timetable," but you can certainly expect a lot more
colours to go with the headings.
Board Names
So, another thing you may notice upon entering the improved
forum is the board names. They've changed, to better suit the
threads that reside in them. "Writing & Fanfiction," for
example, has been altered to "Writing & Storytelling," for the
distinct lack of unoriginality. "Roleplaying & Interactive
Fanfiction" has been renamed as "Roleplaying & Scenarios" for
much the same reason.
Entertainment & Randomness has also undergone yet another name
change. At first, I thought Entertainment & Fun might suit, but
that's a kind of plagiarism, and we don't like that over here at
Inrazimad Corporation. So, it's become Entertainment &
Off-Topic, and, yes, that's grammatically incorrect, but it's
shorter than Entertainment & Off-Topic Discussion, right?
It's not a big change, but it is my hope that they will convey
both the intention and literal meaning of the boards themselves.
However, there is more to Roleplaying & Scenarios than at first
glance, which leads onto my next point.
Segregation and Post Counts
Yes, segregation has occurred in the Roleplaying board. The
Asterisk Area has been created, and all asterisk-style roleplay
threads have been moved there. "Oh noes," I hear you say, "Now
all of the role-players will be divided!" Perhaps you are
correct; perhaps there will be a divide in roleplay. However, it
is merely a test, and, if it does not work, then it will be
reversed. It is not that hard.
However, there is one thing that cannot be reversed; the err and
loss of posts. Indeed, in my ineptitude, I initially disabled
the counting of posts in the Asterisk Area. Four threads were
moved there before the mistake was rectified; The Kingdom of
Kinghood, the Return of the Pipin, the Return of Mobile Mode and
the Burning World; arguably the most active roleplay threads on
the forum.
Now, I must apologise for this. We have suffered a loss of over
2000 posts forum wide, as a result of my errors. Some people
have gone down in posts more than others; I have lost three
hundred of my own posts, but people who spend most of their time
in the roleplay section will have lost far more. Posts will
count on those threads from now on, but there is nothing I can
do to recount any, or all of the lost posts.
Again, I apologise; but it is not the end of the world. Posts
can be regained, slowly over time. Whole threads, on the other
hand, cannot.
Inrazimad Dictionary!
A dictionary, for all your word-related knowledge needs! Yes,
K00 has fashioned a rather fancy-looking Dictionary for us over
in Questions & Queries. It contains everything from Karmacorn to
Mobile Mode, Lojeek to board names and even the definition of
Inrazimad itself!
It's been placed in Questions & Queries for any new members to
see the unique phrases and acronyms of Inrazimad before making
an entirely new thread about them, but it will be linked from
several other places on the forum in the future.
Of course, if you've got any suggestions, questions or
corrections, then you need only contact K00!
Inrazimad Website!
You thought I wouldn't do it! You thought I'd slacked off and
forgotten! Well, you were wrong! I remembered, and I've set up
the basics of a website. It's newer, shinier, cleaner and much
more informative. Made with Weebly, you can find it here
HTML http://inrazimad.weebly.com
, or simply at
www.inrazimad.weebly.com. In fact, the little menu icon leading
to it is now coloured! Yay!
Right now, there isn't much there. Sure, you've got the home
page, what we're about, a link to the forums and a description
of the Sects.
But there needs to be more. More power. More information. Now,
I've got my own ideas for what's going to go up there, but I'd
like to see what you guys want – interface changes, information
pieces – whatever! You can let me know in the good ol'
discussion thread for this announcement.
The Archives!
The long-awaited Archives . . . They're here! Although it
remains to be said if they'll be good or not, every locked
thread in the forum has been moved into the Archives section at
the bottom of the category menu.
Posts do count – I made sure. I've already made some mistakes,
though, such as moving the locked introduction threads into the
Archives, something that, in hindsight, was a bad idea. That'll
be rectified, too.
However, you may notice something else down there – the Filing
Cabinets! Yes, any locked thread that comes from Forum Games or
Entertainment & Off-Topic will go there. Posts do not count in
the Filing Cabinets, so we'll have to be careful with our
moving.
Again, this is just a test. We don't know if it'll work. It
might, it might not. We don't know!
The Arcade!
The Arcade has changed, too. I've removed almost all of our
games, and left us with the bare minimum, the top nine. In order
of popularity, these are . . .
Snake – Hunsinger The Matist, with a score of 2,815
Pacman – Hunsinger The Matist, with a score of 46,590
Frogger – Neamhain Blackmailer, with a score of 475
Asteroids – Aidan Von Atapas, with a score of 18,950
Tetris – No Scores Recorded
Asteroids2 – Aidan Von Atapas, with a score of 17,070
Mine Sweeper – No Scores Recorded
Air Sk8ing – Neamhain Blackmailer, with a score of 526
Amira – Aidan Von Atapas, with a score of 44
Airfox – Hunsinger The Matist, with a score of 30,115
Now, I haven't added any extra games. But that's fine; we've
only got 38 members, and I think nine games shall suffice for
the nonce. If we need more, we can always add them. But, for
now, we can all survive on hating one another and beating
highscores.
I'll beat you one day, Hunsinger . . .

Official Announcements, Logos and
Symbols
In the past, updates and announcements have always been jumbled
up, hastily put together and rather messy. No longer! As you may
have noticed already, this announcement has been nicely stylised
and has featured a lovely triquetra right at the top, courtesy
of our librarian, Hunsinger The Matist.
I've combined his work with the fonts already provided, and I've
created an announcement style that I quite like at the moment.
Everything's centralised, the fonts are nice, and it all looks
rather professional. You can expect to see this sort of setup
with most announcements and official statements in the future.
Forum Statistics
And, of course, the forum statistics. I'm hoping to keep this
little extra as a tradition in the announcements, but we'll see
where it leads.
We have 38 members, which is an improvement of 4 members. Of
course, approximately half of this number is consistently active
. . .
33,542 posts, even after the "Asterisk Incident," which is an
improvement of 6,680 posts . . .
177 topics, an improvement of 34 topics . . .
An average of 110.54 posts per day, a decline of 8.81 due to
forum maintenance . . .
And 4.71 as our average amounts of users online per day,
suffering a decline of 0.02, also due to maintenance.
So, I believe that is just about everything! If I've forgotten
anything, or you have any further questions, suggestions or
corrections, don't hesitate to ask or contradict over on the
discussion thread!
