(I'll be joining once I can get a character together, if that's
okay with you.)
Yeah sure.

No, Uncle, it's not okay with anyone, except for that small ewe
in the field...
Grand-mammy, is this RPG always going to be a battle, or are
people eventually going to look for the Gauntlet of Silver?
The latter. I have a plan for it, don't worry.

Okay then. I'll make sure Anyone stays away, so he doesn't
interfere.
You do that, Father-in-Law.

*Ida looked from her window as she memorised the commanders
instructions as he barked at his training soldiers. Ida's green
eyes looked up at the sun, then back down at the ground. She
smiled, their mother should be coming home. Just then a door
creaked open in the next room and she turned, wrapping her arms
round her mother. Her mother smiled and said hello. She sat down
in her favourite wooden chair and told Rena to fetch Anna for
dinner. Ida offered to cut up some vegetables and so she walked
over to the kitchen.
Anna rushed into the house, saying a quick hello before shouting
with joy to her mother. Ida sighed in disappointment after
hearing their father would not be home till late. Ida hated this
war, and hated their kingdom's leader for ruining their family's
tight relationships. Now days father and mother were hardly ever
home with this war going on.
The family sat down at a small wooden table for dinner, not much
but enough to keep going. Food was not plentiful these days as
the best of it went to the soldiers of which the kingdom lay
upon. Ida are quickly and picked up her bow from under the
table. She nodded to her sister, gesturing to hurry up eating so
they could go outside.*
(I'm at my caravan again this week so if I am able to I'll post
something every now and again but I don't have wifi so please
don't get too into the story yet!! ;) Bai!)

(Don't worry Sarah, we won't)
The incomplete family sat at the tabe, exchanging quick news
before Miranna's sister Ida finished her plate and gestured for
her to hurry up. Miranna and her sister were close, and they
felt the same about their parents always coming home late, or
never coming home at all. They were both trained well, courtesy
of their father, who would always spend his free time on the two
sisters. Unfortunately, this was a rarity, and he hardly came
home during the week.
Shovelling the rest of the food into her mouth, Miranna jumped
from her seat and hugged her mother one more time before nodding
towards her sister, Ida, and walking outside with her.
Sighing, Miranna walked over to the camouflaged hut on the other
side of the garden and retrieved her own bow from it, before
turning back to her sister.
"So, anything interesting happen today?" Miranna queried,
glancing up at the darkening sky, then back to Ida.

Yes, Grace, I is happy now. Personally, I don't know why I added
that rule, reading ASoIaF and, of course . . .
*Finishes rambling*
So, may I ask what era this is in in terms of weaponry, siege
warfare, architecture and society?

Are there generally knights and 'random peasants' in modern or
futuristic eras?

*Barely containing rage*
I am not completely clueless, you know. And, in fact, English
duelling rules still exist in modern society.
Better phrased as "what time frame?" Early medieval, after the
Viking conquests, late medieval, after the time of the Wars of
the Roses and the Hundred Years War? Dark Ages?
When?

Took me a moment to realise who you were then.
But you're you. Now, to devise a character.
If I knew what period it was set in.

*Bangs head on table* Medieval in general! Or are you planning
to be a Viking?

Ida thought for a second, "Not really. I watched the commander
train some men again. He was weird... Seemed to think they were
not capable of completing their training. Are we losing in this
war?" Ida asked, dreading to hear the answer. She wanted to
fight and help her kingdom. Maybe if they won their family would
be better after. Anna seemed to hesitate so Ida shot an arrow to
up in the air. "Hit all the targets and I'll race you to the
arrow!" She said, deciding to avoid the question. She dashed
off, launching an arrow at the hanging targets heading towards
where the arrow had landed. When they were younger, their father
had placed wooden targets throughout the forest for the two
girls to practice with. Their game had evolved into hitting all
the targets that they came across and finding the arrow.*
