Praises

A complaints thread always need a counter. Like the complaints
thread, your praises could be about anything.
I made them separate threads because I don't like the mixing of
a positive and negative atmosphere.
My praise: I'm sure I just forgot about it, but I love this
emoticon: :-X. It's supposed to represent "lips sealed," but to
me it represents torture. Thank you, Cyclone, for this lovely
emoticon.

I also thank you for this emoticon Cyclone. It reminds me of
that one scene from The Matrix.

I am here to praise whoever created chocolate. I should probably
find this out, because they are possibly the greatest person in
the world.
Except to dogs.

The Aztecs used to drink a hot chocolate like drink all the
time. I think it was called xocolatl. They made it by
fermenting, roasting, and grinding cacao beans in water. (Cacao
beans were extremely valuable to them for they believed they
were a gift from one of their gods, Quetzalcoatl (and that name
reminds me of a mineral I did a project on, quetzalcoatlite).)
When the Spanish came and attacked them, they tried and it found
it much too bitter. They added sugar to make it sweeter. The
love of this sweetened drink drove them to expand the industry,
and during the Industrial Revolution they began to harvest and
process cacao beans for the masses. As the processing became
more efficient, people were encouraged to find ways to make new
delicacies out of the cacao bean with their new technologies.
And now we have chocolate.
But I would hardly say the Spanish are the greatest in the
world. They massacred many and used slave labor (and later
underpaid workers) to harvest the cacao beans.
I guess standardized testing can teach you something...
Oh, and for most medium to large dogs, it takes a pound of pure
dark chocolate to kill them, so chocolate isn't as bad for them
as people try to make it out to be. But don't go around feeding
chocolate to dogs.
I'd like to give praise to my church band's bassist's wife. When
she can make it to church on Sunday, which she did today, she
works with the tech guys and really helps them to balance out
the sound of the band. So people could here my playing better
today. Now if only we could take care of the drums and the derpy
keyboard leader dude... They're still too loud and overpowering.

Ooh, that is an interesting story Neamhain! We are learning
about the Industrial Revolution in history at the moment, and
yes, me saying the creators of chocolate were the greatest
people in the world was a rough estimate, me imagining some
inspirational person to have created it sometime ago... The
Spanish would not be, as I am aware the pain that they took part
in causing previously.

Oh? XD Well thank you, I guess? Wasn't expecting that but I'll
take it. :D
I'm gonna also praise my mother, for devoting her time and
energy into five very boisterous, troublesome children who like
to sit on their lazy butts all day! (We aren't THAT bad, I think
to myself but we probably are...) MUMMA YOU LEGEND!

I'm sure the founders of certain chocolate companies were great
people. I'm so glad I'm not in school, but I really need to do
my summer work before time runs out.
I'd like to thank my grandma for making the best ribs out there.
