       There is a compelling case for change to improve quality of care
       in hospitals built through formal research and the direct
       experience of patients, carers, and healthcare professionals.
       The following strategies for improving outcomes for people with
       dementia were discussed at the Alzheimer’s Australia 2014
       Symposium.
       Strategy 1: Identify and manage dementia
       Strategy 2: Involve carers
       Strategy 3: Communicate effectively
       Strategy 4: Provide alternative care to antipsychotic drugs
       Strategy 5: Create an appropriate physical environment
       Strategy 6: Reduce avoidable hospital admissions
