ation patients?

Improve quality outcomes for patients with atrial fibrillation
(AF) and reduce health and social care costs by reducing
patients’ risk of stroke through service improvements to
improve detection, diagnosis and optimal therapy and management
in primary care.
To improve the identification, diagnosis, risk stratification
and optimal management of patients with AF to reduce the risk of
stroke.
AF is a major predisposing factor for stroke, with 12,500
strokes annually thought to be distributed attributable to AF.
Warfarin reduces the risk of stroke by 50-70%.
Currently it is estimated that 46% of AF patients who would
benefit from anticoagulation are not receiving it.
