Nightmarepaw, an apprentice of ShadowClan, just turned 7 moons
and wanted to socialize with her Clanmates a bit more,
preferably high positions and fellow apprentices. Nightmarepaw
had always felt slightly lonely, but she stood up and never took
a rest.

[size=8pt]Phenomenapaw, a cat that swifty made to interact with
Nightmarepaw, was sitting at the apprentice's den entrance. As
soon as he saw the cat younger by one moon, he padded over to
her. Phenomenapaw could be social, and liked to see other cat's
happy. Seeing them unhappy disturbed him - he didn't like it. It
just seemed to...just, not good, in a way, as well as lonely.
Phenomenapaw had seen Nightmarepaw around. Sometimes she was
training, other times she was in the camp. But one thing he
noticed about her was that she always seemed to be alone. Not
always - but apprentice's didn't seem to hang around that much.
Time to change that! he thought as he padded over to the
apprentice, Nightmarepaw.
"Hey, Nightmarepaw." The young, thick-furred brown solid said
cheerfully, flicking his tail back and forward, his glass yellow
eyes flickering over her. She doesn't deserve that name. He
thought to himself upon waiting a reply.

Lazily glancing at Phenomenapaw, her small eyes rested on the
tom's face and she sighed, drifting down even deeper to the cold
shade she was originally sleeping in. She sniffed and looked up
like a helpless little puppy. "H..." she mewed, words cut off by
a strange thought. Does he want to be...friends? she thought,
the first ever time she had thought about friends
since..Lastkit. She stood up and was up to the top of
Phenomenapaw's neck, nearly as tall as him. "Hello, um?" she
meowed, the dark chocolate she-cat not knowing this tom's name.
Her bright amber eyes shimmered in the sunlight and she felt her
paws twitch with uncomfortableness. She had never been in
conversation this long, well, only a few words were spoken.

His bright, yet slightly glazed yellow eyes flickered over her.
She seemed so...so distant, like inside she was...was slowly
leaving...not in the sense that she was dying, but in the way
that she seemed to slowly be changing. For a moment, he thought
he had caught that flicker of hope in her eyes. Or was that just
him?
He shuffled his paw at the ground, feeling an awkwardness
building up. "So - Nightmarepaw - you...good?" Not sure how to
kindle a conversation, Phenomenapaw tried his best to get a few
words between them sparking. Maybe then it could turn into a
conversation, and maybe then...maybe then they could become
friends.

"Hello...Phenomenapaw," she meowed, her eyes growing darker with
every single cheerful movement he made. Her amber eyes were very
shimmery, in the morning sunlight, and she hid her face in the
dark a bit more. This, Phenomenapaw, was very...happy. He
probably was very popular and hadn't experienced what she had
with a friend. She basically wanted to protect all of her fellow
apprentices. Nightmarepaw's body grew shorter. "Um, yeah," she
meowed in response to this tom.

Phenomenapaw said with no sarcasm in his voice. Yes, he could be
very unfriendly when he wanted to, but at other times he could
be very nice. Take now for instance, when he just pretended that
she was talking on like crazy. Well, at least he could pretend
that she had asked if he was good.
"So Nightmarepaw - up for some hunting?" The solid brown tom
asked her.

"Oh, uh, sorry," she meowed quietly, shuffling her paws. She
looked at him and bit her invisible lip, more of a furry jaw.
"Uh, um, okay," she meowed, not really liking going hunting with
other cats.

Phenomenapaw added, sensing her insecurity. Or at least it
seemed like that. He tilted his head and looked at her,
wondering what her answer would be. Would she back down a
possibility to make a friend?
