place?" Jinglekit again whispered, staring up at Cupidarrowed
mournfully. The young kitten looked like he was going to break
into a series of sad wails, but he didn't. He just sighed and
leaned his head against Cupidarrow's leg.

The smokey grey feline's light brown eyes widened, a surprised
look appearing on her maw as she looked up at Jasmiewish. "Thank
you Jasminewish, I promise to do my best to help the clan." the
newly appointed deputy meowed with a soft, if slightly stunned,
smile.

to Jinglekit, seemed just like a random array of sounds and
voices. How could this be? Placing together the words, the young
RiverClan kitten realised he didn't need an answer from
Cupidarrow. It seemed clear enough to him already. Yes,
Splashstar was gone, and yes, he would never be coming back
again.

about the day he was promoted by Splashstar.

for a Clan meeting
We are gathered here today to mark two special kits become
apprentices
Beadedkit, you have reached the age of six moons and it is time
for you to become apprenticed. From this on, until you receive
your warrior name, you shall be known as Beadedpaw. Your mentor
shall be Rainpour. I hope Rainpour passes all that he knows onto
you.
Cupidarrow wondered if Beadedpaw was going to explode with
happiness, until he heard his own name. But not by Splashstar.

Cats of RiverClan, as you know, I will not be around for ever. I
have chosen a cat that shows wisdom and thoughtfulness. My new
apprentice shall be Cupidpaw.
The Clan cheered out Cupidpaw and Beadedpaw's names, the two

IC || Jinglekit snuggled up to his uncle. Then quietly he stood
up, and walked back to the nursery, squeezing through the tight,
dry entrance where prickles stuck out to guard the young ones
from any approaching danger. A clump of fur was left on a
bramble thorn, but the little kitten didn't care. He wanted to
see his father. He wanted to see his mother. Where was his
father, anyway?
