UNDER YOUR ANCESTOR'S EYES [A celebration feast, open to all]

Gardenstar thought it would be nice to celebrate
the start of spring with a beautiful feast for cats. Of her Clan
of course. Gardenstar lay out plenty of food and some catnip as
well. The 'picnic rug' was basically some very long grass stalks
covered up. Gardenstar looked pleased with her efforts.
Stonehenge came back to the camp with two large hares and was
about to place them on the fresh-kill pile, when there was no
fresh-kill pile. "Garde..." he started. He noticed rows and rows
of long grass carrying food and catnip. "Hey Stonehenge. I made
a feast for the start of New-leaf. Want a bite?" she meowed.
Stonehenge sat down beside her and crowds of WindClanners poured
in for the feast.

[tt]"Catnip? Is that such a good idea?" As the deputy, it was
Sequoiatail's job to advice the leader on how best to continue,
and this was not a good idea. If catnip was offered, he could be
sure there would be more than a few new litters in WindClan. He
was a classic warrior and was not one to break tradition or
rules.

Gravityweight snorted with amusement at
Sequoiatail's reply to this catnip. However, he didn't reply,
and just looked around for someone to chat too, while keeping
his eye on the food to see if there was anything that looked
particularly appealing, until at last he spotted what looked
like a small, yet plump, rabbit. "So much!" he commented under
his breath, his eyes wide. There was no doubt about it - he was
pleased with this. The golden tom stole forward, trying not to
look to eager to take something juicy and plump or hang around
there so he could take something nice ever so often.

Gardenstar looked at him. And started to laugh.
"Its not for eating. Its for decoration. I won't tolerate any
cat eating this, unless you have greencough," meowed the leader
slightly sternly, watching Sequoiatail with her silver eyes.
"You must only eat the fresh-kill the Clan has worked hard for,"
she meowed, looking at Gravityweight. 'Take as much as you want.
We'll do a big entire Clan hunting session tomorrow," she
meowed.

Gravityweight grinned at Gardenstar and
took a piece of prey from the pile, and began to munch down on
it. It was a especially delicious little rabbit, and when it was
finished the tom felt rather full.

Heirloomquilt padded over to the celebration, grinning. Her
friendly, gray eyes flickering around her surroundings. She went
over, plucked a mouse from the freshkill pile, and sat down by a
small bush.

Seeing Heirloomquilt, Gravityweight padded over.
"Hey," he said, sitting down next to her with a rabbit. He
frowned at the mouse. "Wonder where they got that; close to the
ThunderClan border, I expect." He said, wrinkling his nose.

Heirloomquilt looked up at Gravityweight. "I know, it's gross. I
wanted to save the better prey for the elders." She told
Gravityweight.

large bite from the rabbit.

Gardenstar noticed Heirloomquilt and Gravityweight
and she padded over to her mate, sitting by him and just hearing
the last part of Heirloomquilt's sentence. "We don't have any
elders," she meowed, flicking her tail towards the empty elder's
den. "The last one...Stormflower, passed away during Leaf-bare,"
she purred, eating some of the small rabbit she took.
