Darkwhispers awoke the next day, still slightly annoyed at
Dreamcatcher becoming deputy instead of the young warrior. She
was so close to her apprentice Confettipaw. She wanted to keep
her safe. Her only son Maskpaw was killed by a badger when
Darkwhispers left him, and her former apprentice Spiderbite ran
off because they had an argument. "Confettipaw," she whispered,
jolting up. She padded to the apprentice's den and prayed that
she would be safe. Looking in the den, the delicate body of her
apprentice was still sleeping. She gently pawed the apprentice.
"Confettipaw. Training," she whispered.

[tt]Confettipaw's blue dappled pelt rose and fell with her
breathing until she was jolted awake. Darkwhisper's soft touch
told her that she was safe and it wasn't an attack. "This
early?" Ugh. Light barely shown through the den; it was just
barely dawn.

Darkwhispers purred with silent laughter and sat down, arched
over Confettipaw to not alarm the apprentice. "Yes, I must teach
you something important," she meowed, knowing this lesson would
be extremely important to protect her from an early fate.

[tt]Confettipaw rolled over to face her mentor, voice in a
whisper as to not wake the other apprentices snoring. "Okay."
The blue and white female stood and stretched her tight muscles,
yawning. "I'm ready." She meowed after shaking stray feathers
and moss off of her smooth pelt.

Purring, Darkwhispers padded out of the den in the cool morning
air. No snow fell on the ground, only frost on the plants were
visible of the harsh Leaf-bare. Darkwhispers noticed a small
patch of dark-hidden reeds and hid in there. They were out in
the middle of no where, so Confettipaw had to think her mentor
was gone.

[tt]Sure, she had lost sight of Darkwhispers. Was she really
that fast? Had all her apprentices been trained like this?
Obviously she would not have just run away. Confettipaw tried to
heighten her senses. "This is an exercise, isn't it?" She joked,
but not laughing.

ooc; no, she can't find her, its part of the exercise
ic; Darkwhispers held her breath and carefully splashed out
water on her scent when Confettipaw looked away. She washed
herself in the swampy water and started to breathe, her eyes
widening.

a few steps, searching for the scent that had disappeared on

ic; Darkwhipers aimed for her apprentice's chest and sprang out.
"Take me to your leader, or I'll kill you," she growled in a
very deep, threatening voice, aiming to pin down her apprentice.
Will StarClan hope that she gets the message? she thought.

[tt]Confettipaw was hit with a force that knocked her over. "Get
off, you mange-butt!" She cried out rather sternly, clawing
blindly at the cat's face who had attacked her.
