rumbling purr echoing inside her chest. "Congratulations!" she
said with a wide smile. Sure enough, her son was the new deputy
of ShadowClan. Usually she wouldn't be so soft, so sappy and
happy, but this was an exception. Countdown had just become
deputy, for StarClan's sake!

small, happy grin. "You totally deserve this, Countdown, dear."
Her eyes glowed with pride. Not only because he had been
promoted to deputy, but because Sacredoath knew that his whole
life he had been born for this. She had known all along...and
oh, how proud she was was beyond description.

"My brother is amazing," she whispered softly, her dark blue
eyes investigating the new deputy.

Reachinghome held a cliche, sour expression on her jet black
face. Crossing her paws over one another, the newly deemed
leader pursed her lips in deep thought. She still needed to
decide on the Medicine Cat and its apprentice. There weren't
many agreeable cats around. She might as well choose whomever
she saw fit, no matter how annoying and frivolous they could be.
[b]"Our Medicine Cat will be Secretsuntold, our Medicine Cat
Apprentice Harmonypaw," she meowed slowly, the short line that
was her mouth wavering into a frown as something began inside of
her-- something dangerous. "Alright, you are all dismissed. Go
celebrate, whatever. But Secretsuntold and Harmonypaw must
accompany on my trip to the Moonstone. Anyone whom wishes to
come with us may. However, we need our senior warriors and
trained apprentices to stay. Thank you very much." Curtly
hopping off the fallen tree, she stalked into her den with a
frown.

Herbgarden padded to Countdown and nodded again before retiring
to her den before hunting.
Luckyfountain, the sister of Reachingstar, stared at her and
dipped her head. "Wise choices you have made, dear sister. I
shall come with you. I daren't let you off without a warrior's
guidance," she meowed.

Luckyfountain nodded and brushed her sister's flank with her
tail before padding to Secretsuntold and Harmonypaw.
"Secretsuntold, Harmonypaw, congratulations on your promotions.
You must procced to Reachingstar and we must collect our
travelling herbs, then set off to Moonstone," she meowed to
them, dipping her head.

[size=8pt]Sacredoath watched Luckyfountain and Reachingstar. She
almost couldn't believe that the new leader had demoted all of
the old cats - but in another way, she understood. The leader's
word was law, and there was nothing she could change about that.
Besides, she suspected that Harmonypaw and Secretsuntold would
be perfect for the job.
If her son hadn't become deputy, she might have even requested
to go with Reachingstar. She might be fairly senior, but that
didn't mean that there weren't other cats that could protect the
camp - there was so saying in what could happen. Anyway, who
would attack the camp now? At this time of grieving? Sacredoath
had heard herself that the other clans were grieving for their
lost leaders - what a coincidence that all the leaders seemed to
have died at the same time.
The ShadowClan mother bent forward and nuzzled Countdown. "I'm
so proud of you, my dear." She murmured, then glanced at her
other two daughters, dipping her head to show that she was proud
of them too.

Herbgarden purred and started grooming her dilute tortoiseshell
fur, in hope of a cleaner pelt before hunting.
