       Love the conspiracy theories.
Like James doesn't know he's a vastly better player than his
brother and wouldn't leave to a club who offered a better
       deal....
       Silly people.

Just going off what was previously rumoured as being a condition
for James extending his contract last time round - little bit
diva but could well have been the case previously under
       different management.
Regardless of whether or not you think it's even remotely
possible that that's a factor here, Gussy's language screams
"Chis is a squad player who will only really be called upon when
a list of others are injured or for the lesser competitions" and
that's not really the type of player I'd imagined we'd be
keeping on in light of Gussy's desire to trim down the squad to
quality rather than quantity. I understand that not every player
in your squad is going to be the best in their position in the
       Prem but still...

Quality over quantity, you still need squad players. Not as
many as we may of had in the past, but still a few. Every squad
       has them, Sarries, Exeter.

yeah quite - i've always liked him on the field at 15 or on the
wing and think he suffered through the injuries and the team
       meltdown of last two years.
We still need some squad players - just not a whole team of them
like we've had since O'Shea did no planning or meaningful
       recruitment for post 2012.

That’s exactly what I’m suggesting. Because that’s exactly what
I know happened last time around

Obviously they have to guarantee him so many games a season as
well. How many would that be, and are there any other aspects of
his contract you can share with us?

I think if you see how the NZ Rugby have to accomodate Sonny
Bill Williams, then yes, for a top player I can see you have to
make allowances. But Chisolm? Get real, he's not even an
       international.

Last time around, Ross was in the middle of a lengthy injury lay
off and I think Quins were close to cutting their losses and
James negotiated a new deal with Ross to ensure his security.
Obviously it’s not as black and white as “both of us or I walk”
but I mean more that Ross would not have been re-signed had it
       not been for James.
I imagine James will be announced this week too, and it wouldn’t
surprise me if it’s similar. Ross is a capable squad player,
nothing more, and keeping him on is easier than recruiting
someone, so it’s a no lose for Quins, with the added bonus of
James - increasingly a key player for us - being happier at the
       club.
