Yep agree. Would keep him over Clifford if one of them had to
go.

I’d keep Chis too.

The only question marks I can see with Clifford are his injury
record and whether, after detaching his hamstring from the bone,
his real top-end pace is still there - I heard second-hand that
for a while it looked like that was going to force him to
retire. At his best he's almost Tom Croft level but we've not
seen so much of it this season.
Gutting if he does go.

That's a bit of damning with faint praise. Croft had some
outrageous skills but also some real weaknesses in his game.
Clifford, in the season or so when he was actually fully fit (he
was carrying that shoulder industry for quite a while before
surgery), was a far more complete player, and he looks to be
getting back to that sort of level. Even if he's lost a bit of
pace, that shouldn't be a barrier to him adapting to a different
sort of role (as Dallaglio did after he injured his knees).
I'm still surprised that he would want to leave - the club has
invested a lot in getting him back to fitness and now he is fit
he's getting plenty of game time - or that Quins would be happy
to let him go. But even the TRP report is less definite about
him going than it is about some of the others. The only
justification I can think of is that if there's no room in the
salary cap, Dombrandt may be seen as younger, cheaper and having
at least as much potential. But that still has to be realised.
As for Clifford vs Chisholm, they're quite different styles of
player. Chis is physically more powerful but lacks Clifford's
acceleration and handling and isn't quite as good at reading the
game.

The one thing to link Sink to Sale is Marland Yarde - when he
left Quins he said his best friend was Kyle . I expect someone
has put 2 + 2 together .

My understanding is that Wardy and Sink are mates. Wardy
leaving "could" be an influence. However, I would be a little
surprised if Ward left. Ward's girlfriend plays for Quins
ladies - so there is a big motivation to stick around.

Yet there is a massive desire from us to offload him.

Yeah I've not seen/heard anything about us signing Sinck
recently. Diamond's aim (as I guess for most DoRs) is apparently
to have an international class player in each position backed up
a Prem-standard and then an academy member.
WillGriff John is proving to be a capable Prem standard
tighthead and Joe Jones is holding his own in the Prem Cup
games. I'd guess he's (rightly or wrongly) seeing JCW as the
international standard 3.
So I'm not sure how Sinck fits into our hiring strategy.
Obviously I'd have him in an instant though.

Ward has also said Sinck is his best mate at Quins. Maybe it's
between Sale and the Yorkists!

I'd hope we don't lose Sinckler or Clifford. Both real quality.
Ward has done a job for us for a while, but his throwing lets
him down and I'm not sure he's our best scrummager either.
