I'm not sure. Someone sent me a screenshot of the allegation on
Whatsapp, but I've deleted it now. I think at the time the ref
and assistants didnt see anything and so couldn't do anything,
and maybe they didn't have enough camera angles for a citing.
Not sure how Goode knows that Ward was intentionally trying to
break his leg as opposed to just a very reckless tackle. It's a
bit like when players try to tackle a fly half's standing leg
when they're kicking - it always looks nasty, but hard to say
it's a deliberate attempt to break a leg as opposed to just
roughing them up a bit.
I was not aware of the incident and allegation until this blew
up, so no idea if Ward was very much in the wrong, or Goode is
just holding a grudge over a bad tackle and his suspsicion of
malicious intent. Either way, given how long ago it was, it
seems odd to still be so angry about it that he'd go this
overboard

For the life of me I cannot see any spitting, just a bloke
shouting with a bit of saliva in his mouth. Certainly wasn't a
proper gobbo greeny like you used to get on your new school
blazer.

Just a bit of spittle when he called him something beginning
with P , the tread on his foot was a bit of a cheap shot but not
intended to hurt , just to wind up - mission accomplished there
.. that's going on all the time as the forwards irritate each
other -
Storm in a teacup , stirred by ex Waspies with agenda 's .. they
will never accept that and double down on the fact that it was
spit and a stamp .
All a bit unsavoury , but in the midst of it on Sat eve I saw
something on facebook or twitter that made me smile
Paraphrasing" not sure what the problem is , even if Wardy was
trying to spit at Youngs I doubt he'd hit him - probably went
straight over his head or to one side "

Has the deadline for citings now passed? I assume it has, but am
surprised that the citing person hasn't even mentioned the
incident or the tackle on Brown. Sometimes for high profile
incidents the commissioner comes out and says that someone only
merited a yellow card, so no ban, but I guess if neither
incident was worthy of a red (which neither were in my opinion)
then perhaps no reason to say anything at all.

A Gloucester player, can’t remember who, has been cited for a
dangerous tackle. The fact that I can’t remember who shows you
how much publicity it got as opposed to something that didn’t
get cited.

Still can't believe there was no mention of Carr flattening
Brown with a late, no-arms tackle.

Is there a handy clip of that because at the time it didn't seem
like much and, unusually, the gobby Quins fans near us didn't
seem overly bothered.
