I really don't think you could call that a "stamp" more of a
push with the foot. Silly, yes, dangerous, no. Not really worthy
of a card at all IMHO, Wasps 7 and Ward had been niggling for 10
minutes before that. Charlie Mathews elbowed Marler in the head
at one point . .

With the new entrance (we were in the West Stand) there seem to
be fewer turnstiles. Getting in was a nightmare so missed the
first try.

Andy Goode has quickly deleted a lot of his posts about it, as
has been said already he is very reactionary and like Rugby
Inside Line seems to have a dislike of Quins. It is strange how
he failed to pick up the handbags on 3 occasions from Daly and
as already said ignored the elbow on Marler.

Replayed this time and time again and cannot see the spit
(perhaps because I do not want to) but Dayglo is convinced so I
guess he must be right.

Dayglo commentating on Wasps is always a painful affair. Of all
the BT commentators I have the impression that he finds it
hardest to put his club affiliation to one side when
commentating.

Ward spits, but it's very clearly not aimed at anything - no
particular head movement or whatever and zero evidence it hits
anyone. He does also clearly tread on Youngs' ankle deliberately
and should be punished for that, the utter muppet.
Dayglo's commentary was appalling throughout, he was
cheerleading Wasps for the entire game, tried to excuse Daly's
temper tantrum, declared nothing to see over Mike Brown landing
on his face, and barely acknowledged that Quins had actually
been present. It was woeful, and BT's deliberate attempt to stir
up controversy at the end with the interviews and analysis all
focusing on Ward is football-lite. Pathetic, and I hope they put
a stop to it.

What would be interesting is if there is no citing or proof that
Ward deliberately spat at a player would those who have accused
him apologise? I think it is incredibly wrong for others to tag
Dave Ward into these things almost like they are encouraging
abuse which he is currently getting. They even have a player
that he played against 10 plus years ago saying he kicked me in
the head once. It is like no other player has done anything bad
like deliberately hyper extend an opponents arm etc.

I thought we did well to win. Wasps looked good in spurts, but
we defended well. Having said that, there were some horrific
forward passes that the ref seemed to think were OK, and they
seemed to have relocated to planet offside - unless of course
the back foot at the breakdown is miraculously a yard or so
ahead of where the relevant player's boot happens to be.
Ward was silly, but not sure it was a yellow; if it was though,
the retaliation deserved the same. Brown being taken out in the
air was a bit iffy, and when he broke through a put in a grubber
kick, Carr levelled him with a no-arms shoulder charge. Not even
looked at.
But the game is won, we're in fourth, and we've earned that
place. Yes, IF "Newcastle beat Bristol tomorrow, and the latter
secure a losing bonus point", the table will look different. But
we'll still be 11 points clear of Worcester and let's face it,
there are 10 teams who could still be dragged into a relegation
battle.
Onwards and upwards.

Looks like he’s ‘spitting’ a result of letting out a stream of
invective and having a lack of control over his mouth. Don’t see
it as a deliberate spit but could see how Young may interpret it
as such.
Dear old Fissler stoking stuff up now. Love some of the comments
below “people who don’t think this is a spit need to have a look
at themselves.” I do hope someone adds that Ward should “hang
his head in shame” for full twitter storm in teacup outrage
bingo.
