Well what an insightful and inside information article that was.
Not.

Tells us nothing we didn't already know, but at least he
recognises it. It is rather alarming if senior people within the
organisation, as seems to be implied from Brian's article,
don't/can't see what's going wrong is worrying.

I read it this morning and wonder how you can be paid for
writing such uninformative pages in national press.
But as highlighted it does point towards a clueless and very
blinkered top bras at Quins HQ.

It's standard opinion columnist material. The kind of thing
dashed off before breakfast or while on the toilet.

Article in the mail had a lot more to it
‘ There are issues everywhere you look at Harlequins. The club’s
recruitment – led by Ed Spokes – has been questionable at best.
Furbank is a fine player and he should still be England’s
first-choice full-back when fit. But on a salary of more than
£300,000-a-year, it is impossible to get away from the fact
Harlequins' priority should have been investing in fresh grunt
in the forward pack.
Gloucester, who finished just a point and a place above Quins
last season, have evidently done a better job of recruitment -
to the tune of a 48-0 thumping between the two teams last
weekend.
With Quins slowly slipping down the PREM table ever since their
2021 title, finishing third, sixth, sixth, seventh and ninth
since then, big questions are rightly being asked of Laurie
Dalrymple, who has been chief executive since 2019.
One former Harlequins player, who asked not to be named,
described Dalrymple as a ‘massive problem.’ He added: ‘There
needs to be accountability for an underperforming rugby
department. Harlequins have turned from a rugby club into a
brand.’
The club’s problems were laid out in plain terms at Gloucester
last weekend. Over the summer the Cherry and Whites added
significant heft, bringing in Wales co-captains Dewi Lake and
Jac Morgan and South Africa World Cup winner Jean Kleyn for a
harder edge”
