Harlequins stream specific fixtures like their pre-season
friendly against Edinburgh Rugby on TikTok and their official
club app rather than YouTube as part of a digital strategy to
engage younger demographics and leverage TikTok's live
interactive features.
I help people set up vlogs and podcasts etc as my job now, and
TikTok has more interactive features if you are live-streaming
than YouTube, it is also more oriented towards mobile devices,
watching a rugby match on my iPhone is not that appealing to me,
ok on an iPad, but again, pads appeal to an older demographic.
YouTube is far better for rugby as you can use a TV to watch and
streaming to both would seem sensible, but some marketing agency
has probably pushed a plan to get younger people to watch, the
Facebook page is saying the match is on the club app and TikTok,
not sure if the watch on YouTube option on the app is available
for this, you can then switch to your smart tv and watch it on
YouTube on that.
But that is not always available for the livestream, I get
employed by people to do lots of things that are just overly
complicated and don’t make sense to me, who have purchased
equipment that is completely unnecessary and far higher quality
than needed, and much more difficult to use, most times simply
because someone told them to, the worst offenders are companies.

Neither Quins nor England seem to have gotten the best out of
CCS as he was at London Irish. Whatever position they used him
the most at, I'd suggest that that may be the starting point.
Was it number 8? I can't remember. But this chopping and
changing of the player's position seems to produce weaker output
for team and player.

He played 19 times in his final season at London Irish 14 times
at 8 or blindside flanker and 5 times at lock, so very similar
to how we have employed him.
I don’t think he was better at London Irish, the issue is that
he hasn’t really progressed with us, and the number of handling
errors he seems to make, he hasn’t really had a decent run of
games, and with Dommers injury and him fingers crossed staying
healthy he should this season.
His versatility is a plus point and I suspect he would rather be
starting in any position than being on the bench, his best
position to me is 6, but circumstances may mean 8 this year,
also I think that Petti is better employed at 6 than lock.

This season could be make or break for CCS to see if he can be a
genuine England option. He probably needs a long run at starting
at 8 to showcase his potential. To date for a big guy he really
hasn't made his presence know, I thought he would have wrecking
ball vibes but sadly not been seen yet.
CCS at 8 with Kenningham 6 and Evans 7 I'd like to see

I do think CCS has gone back a bit, but then *everyone* in the
team (except Murley, perhaps, and maybe one or two others) went
backwards last season. Personally, I'm willing to start with a
blank slate for players this season and see who can show their
stuff with a coherent set of coaches and a game plan.

I think people might be forgetting how good CCS has been for us
at times, and should probably give a bit more consideration to
the fact that he's been playing in a pretty cack team for the
last couple of seasons. That's bound to affect his performances
to a degree, as it has for numerous other players.

Fundamentally his position at Irish was "on the bench" more
often than not.

Ahead of Friday’s friendly clash with Edinburgh Rugby, Head
Coach Jason Gilmore has confirmed the side that will start the
game (19:45 KO)

Having started the season with two bonus-point victories in the
PREM Rugby Cup, a number of international players are now set to
run out in The Quarters for the first time this season.
Will Hobson and Jack Walker are joined by Argentine
international Pedro Delgado in the front-row.
James Dun and Harry Browne combine in the engine room, whilst
Jack Kenningham, Will Evans and Chandler Cunningham-South link
up in the back-row.
Will Porter and Marcus Smith combine at half-back, with Bryn
Bradley and Oscar Beard named in the centres.
Cadan Murley starts on the left wing and will captain the side,
with Tyrone Green named on the right wing and summer recruit
George Furbank set to don the quarters for the first time at
fullback.
The match will see rolling subs used throughout, with the
extended squad of 36 players all set to feature on Friday night.
An additional international contingent including Boris Wenger,
Guido Petti Pagadizábal, Rodrigo Isgro and Luke Northmore are
all set for their first appearances of the season, whilst fans
can also look forward to seeing new recruit Eddie Sigauke in a
Harlequins shirt for the first time.
There are also first involvements in the match day side this
campaign for Ollie Streeter, Sam Riley, Jimmy Staples, Zach
Carr, Elliot Williams, Tate Williams, Lucas Friday and Fin
Cunnison.
The rest of the squad have all featured in the opening two
rounds of the PREM Rugby Cup.
Tickets for Friday night’s fixture are still available here.
Supporters will also have the opportunity to be one of the first
to purchase their Big Game 18 shirt from the Club Shop on Friday
evening as well, with the kit due to be released on Friday 18th
September.
