I think more depends on Quins form, than England, if we are
competitive and play a style suited to Marcus, the next England
coach may value Marcus more than the present incumbent.
His England woes have been helped by our terrible form over last
few seasons.

From listening to the RUW pod that first mentioned this
extension and a couple of other since, I'm not sure how much the
extension changes anything.
My understanding was that the contract was to the end of the
World Cup anyway. All this does is buy the RFU 6 months to find
the right replacement rather than a panic buy if England bomb
out early.
For example, Dan Cole mentioned the Saints coaches. Rather than
them leaving Saints mid-season (as Borthwick had to do at
Tigers), this new extension allows them to see out the 2027/8
PREM season, and Saints to find replacements for 2028/9.

Dowson and vesty are said by some sources to have a contract
until the end of the 27/28 season, you do start to wonder if a
deal has already not been done, and this just minimises the cost
of compensation.
All I can find around their contracts is long term, and no
mention of length by the Saints, but there must be break
clauses.

Are Dowson and Vesty the answer? They have minimal international
coaching experience and it's a very different kettle of fish to
club coaching.

They were used as an example.
That said, to keep everyone happy, the RFU would have to appoint
somebody who has international experience, understands the PREM
and is English.
Unfortunately, the IRFU have just signed him up to a long-term
deal.

Bill Sweeny didn't send Farrell so much as a text message
apparently.
