All pretty spot on. I think the army guy was signed either just
for this game or for this month. It might be as simple as a
younger prop or two carrying a niggle and not wanting to select
a more experienced guy for the bench spot.
Hobson's ability in space is unreal for a prop. He's so good at
either running into it to receive the ball or passing into it
with great awareness and timing.

Makes an interesting contrast to Baxter, who tends to take
contact but has a knack of adjusting his body position at the
last moment and slides through a lot of tackles. Between the two
of them we should get consistent front foot ball in the right.

Still going to have problems on the left then?

Hobson was the find of last season for me. He's not small
either, yet surprisingly mobile. I mentioned elsewhere that Fin
will need to fight hard to get/keep the shirt, which is no bad
thing. If his improvement continues, he could even surpass Fin
in a couple of seasons.

Well looseheads have to have something to do during the game, so
that's good.
It's funny, when you have quality competition to start, your
level goes up. If only that had been known before??? The battle
between them could pay dividends and with BFA away with England
twice, Hobson backed up by Boris isn't a bad place to be. A
slight worry once the AIs kick in though.
Sounds like Tyrone had a vintage outing, if that's linked to
Furbank's arrival, that will also be good for us. It is the hope
that kills but hopefully good signs.

I do hope Tyrone is back to his best. He's a damn fine player
when on song, he was so off the pace last season it was sad to
see.
A good stable of young front rows in particular but fowards more
generally is a lovely thin to have, let's hope they all stay fit
and develop as we hope they will.
