I liked him when he was with us, but unless there is a specific
gap then bringing him onboard seems like a backwards move. We
need to build towards the future by giving game time to the
younger squad players, not blocking their progress.

We are still light at 12, and as a distributor of sorts I can
see how he'd be good to pair with Bellamy in those matches where
we're not selecting our first choice options. Take a bit of the
decision making load off the youngster, assuming he's playing
10. That way we can pick Green or whoever at 15 and not worry
about it too much.

Also seem to remember he has a bit of a cannon too. Jev kicked
very short and Smith isn’t miles long so it’s something
different. Thought I saw Max Clarke in some of the preseason
guff so maybe we have him though?

James Lang has been invited to train with the squad on a
short-term basis as preparations for the 2026/27 season
continue.
The former Quins centre joins fellow short-term training players
Tim Cardell, Sitveni Vasuturaga, Max Clark, Osman Dimen and Jake
Spurway as we begin block 2 of pre-season.
