Assuming we win the group and everyone else goes to rankings
then South Africa, France, Scotland and NZ are in the other side
of the draw and our route to the final would be Italy,
Australia, Ireland. So I'd consider that a great draw

Borthers and Wiggy will be targeting the all important losing
bonus point for the Wales game

Looks like we should be targeting a Round of 16 against almost
certainly Italy which is entirely winnable.
A quarter final against Australia which, depending how they
develop, isn't a bad draw.
IF we win that a semi against either Argentina or Ireland.
Argentina we'd have a good chance of beating based on recent
from, Ireland less so.
Is this Irelands shot at getting past a quarter final?

I think it depends on whether Argentina can find a decent pack.
They used to have good beef-fed props which could dominate
scrums, if not quite to the extent of the South Africans - and
some quite mobile back row forwards.
The only thing in common with the Pepe Mendez era seems to be a
good right hook.
Ireland seem to be able to maintain a pipeline of players. So I
would suspect they should beat Argentina - and on current form
England.

Probably the best draw we could hope for, but as we've lost to
both Italy and Ireland this year, we better improve a lot.

Pools A, B and D look like the toughest ones, depending on how
Italy are playing come the world cup. They seem to be a bit up
and down at the moment.

Pretty much like the last WC. QF pretty much secured, if we can
string some phases together and Oz on their home soil, pressure
on them as they won't want to loose to the old enemy again.
Can't see Ireland breaking the QF hoodoo, I think it's
psychological now so if Argentina can pull out a good game
against them, could be another final for us with little effort.
Obviously, "if" doing a lot of heavy lifting there

Myself and a mate ended up taking a punt on a semi and final
ticket during the last batch - not sure if that is blind
optimism or not but I guess you only live once...
