I can't recall anyone admitting to being far right, extreme
views are framed as common sense, that everyone else really
agrees with but are afraid to say, that calling someone far
right is a smear, not a descripton of their views, and only used
to shut down debate.
That they are defending culture and heritage, that because they
are not Hitler or Franco, that they are moderate, what exactly
would you label him, he appears to be on the extreme edge of the
mainstream right wing, so far right, sounds fairly accurate.
In the end Argentina which i have visted a few times is a
beautiful country, cursed with a history of terrible leadership,
and in a loop of self destruction, political extremes will not
rescue them from it, left or right, but while the people find
excuses about the Falklands or Britain the US or mr blooby being
the cause of their problems, nothing will change.

Yet one rarely hears the term "far left" candied around so
freely.

OK, I’ll bite. Which parts of the welfare bill are farcical?
Here’s a breakdown of spending for last year. Which bit would
you cut?
- Pensioner Benefits (£177.7 billion): Makes up the largest
share (around 55% of the total budget). This is primarily driven
by the State Pension, which accounts for £146.1 billion.
- Disability and Ill-Health Support (£77.1 billion): Includes
benefits such as Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Disability
Living Allowance (DLA), and incapacity-related Universal Credit
payments.
- Working Age and Children Welfare (£145.0 billion): Encompasses
Universal Credit, Child Benefit, and other family-related
support.
- Housing Support (£37.3 billion): Includes housing benefits and
local housing allowances
The State Pension is paid based on National Insurance
contributrions (and credits for those who aren’t working but are
caring for others or raising children).
Pension Credit is means tested.
PIP and DLA are subject to disability assessments (where the
goalposts keep being moved, leaving some disabled people without
access to benefits for months while they are reassessed) and are
geared towards enabling disabled people to live independently
and work, as are disability-related Universal Credit payments.
Universal Credit essentially tops up income to a minimum level
for those whose wages are too low to live on. Child Benefit is
now cut off for high earners.
Housing Benefits mostly support people whose housing costs are
disproportionate to their earnings, and often prevent families
becoming homeless when the main breadwinner loses a job and
can’t find another on equivalent pay.
Which of these would you cut?

But far left is an excepted term as is radical left, extreme
left as is communist and Marxist personally I believe that all
types of extremism political views are equally unappealing, and
history has shown them to be flawed.
Political views are circular and the extreme left and extreme
right meet, Hitler and Stalin shared many unpleasant traits and
communism and fascism are equally unpleasant, the term far right
just has more traction as extreme right wing views are more
common than extreme left wing views at present.
As far as cutting benefits as a way of controlling public
spending, the vast majority of the public be they centre left or
centre right, which is where the two main political parties
stand, would find cutting pensions or health benefits or pretty
much any other benefits very unpalatable.
The best way to pay for government spending be that benefits or
increased defence spending is by growing the economy and a far
and balanced taxation system that encourages investment but does
not tax lower earners disproportionately, which does not
describe the policies of either extreme end of the political
spectrum.

Yeah, basically. It’s been a central tenet of economic theory
for centuries that playing your best fly half out of position
causes a domino effect in the economy that leads to deficits,
more people on welfare and political extremism. It was first
observed by Adam Smith, who objected strongly to being selected
on the wing.

There is an excess supply of skillful 10s in England, so
Borthwick is merely increasing demand for them by introducing a
new market opportunity at 15. Unfortunately this is creating a
glut of 15s who now can't be utilised.
Borthwickism is an interventionist theory.

I would suggest that rather than cutting benefits that they
should be more vigorously policed. Invest in Benefits
Inspectors, Regular Audits, Psychiatrists Tests and so on to
confront the rump of benefit cheats who also work in the Black
Economy for Cash. I know of 1 woman with 5 kids from 4 different
fathers who can't work because of Agorophobia who happily goes
clothes shopping and clubbing, but its ok, her daughter receives
Carers Allowance for looking after her....There are many, many
perfectly genuine Benefits Claimants, don't get me wrong but the
system is non policed and seriously open to abuse. Invest a few
£million to save 100's of £millions to stop the deliberately
"workless"/"feckless" households screwing the rest of us over.
