Not that it matters to Steve "Steve" Borthwick, but Daly was
also Really Quite Bad the last time he got parachuted back into
the England side out of nowhere, and his 6N displays this year
were pretty dismal too (bar a nice grubber).

Dreadful commentators ruining the France game.

Another plucky defeat for Scotland. They played some really nice
stuff but ultimately SA had too much. Russell also seems to be
allowed to pass forward more than most.

I was amazed that none of the questionable passes were checked.
Dome puzzling refereeing though.
Scotland put up a very good fight. On the other hand, so many
new faces in the Boks, all standing up to be counted.
Unbelievable strength in depth.

I want to like whatsherface, never sure if it's Claire thomas or
the other one who sounds like her. She has a good commentating
voice, but she needs to lay off the hype.

It was Claire Thomas. She has absolutely no feeling for the game
situation. At one point, when all the momentum was with France,
there was a lineout that led to a half break that then led to
Ntamack's lovely try, but she commentated the whole passage of
play like she was reviewing a knock on in midfield.
Good commentators enhance what you're seeing and add to the
emotion and excitement. She does the opposite.
I know she does a lot of radio work and it can be hard to change
approach. Even when the game kicked off I genuinely thought that
the studio host was still talking and about to hand over to the
commentators, because the cadence, content, and style were so at
odds with live commentary

IRB's rankings now put England ahead of Scotland, but I think
reality is Scotland were a lot closer to SA than England were.
Of course, with Scotland playing Fiji next week, England will
need to beat Argentina to stay ahead.
A loss could put them below Scotland and Argentina.

You can only lose to what's in front of you.
Anyway, Scotland are much better than England. They consistently
beat us, and they're a team taking scalps on a regular basis. We
have managed like one impressive win per season. Maybe 2 if
we're really lucky and one of the big teams has a meltdown.
