Seems like an interesting signing, solid Super Rugby experience.
We do seem to now have a huge number of props:
- HJH (new guy)
- Titi
- H Williams
- Fin B
- Simon Kerrod
- Oli Streeter
- Will Hobson
- Delgado
- Boris Wenger
- Jordan Els (not sure if he was announces as leaving?)
- Swiegers
Not sure if I've missed anyone but hoping this isn't an
indication that Fin's injury will put him out longer than
expected...

Good to have someone who's experienced and can play both sides
of the scrum. He may not tear up trees for us, but a solid
option by the looks of it.

It should also be mentioned that as far are we know, 5 are on
the injury list (Titi Lamositele, Harry Williams, Fin Baxter,
Simon Kerrod + Sam Bland)

And breaking the seniors down into who plays which side:
LH:
Baxter
Wenger
Both:
Johnson-Holmes
Kerrod
Hobson (FWIW, I see him as our #2 LH now - but he has played TH
for us a number of times)
TH:
Delgado
Swiegers
Lamositele
Williams
(Streeter)
Given that depth chart, you'd think we'll see him on the LH more
often than not...

We list BFA as LH. But, a long time ago he played TH.
So, he should technically be listed as LH/TH

I wonder if one of our other props is off by mutual consent. I
know we had plenty of injuries last year, but this doesn't seem
inline with the smaller squad size ethos being pushed.

My guess is that Lamositele and Williams were expected to hold
the fort for a couple of seasons until the Academy props were
ready. Injury has given some of those lads a chance to step up,
and they’ve shown promise, but the club would probably rather
ease them into playing regularly at the top level as they did
with BFA.
So I suspect this is a transitional year in propping and things
will slim down a bit next year. Though with our injury rate in
the front row, maybe it’s just a need for extra depth.
