Well first up, I don’t think being an ex-player makes someone
any more capable of judging talent. Youngs and Cole are welcome
to their opinions. They’re not gospel.
Yes, he’s been selected by 2 England hierarchies (he has also
been dropped by Borthwick several times). 2 England hierarchies
which have been depressingly negative in their selections and
game plans.
But to answer your question, I don’t think they are not seeing
anything I am. They can clearly see Curry is a banger with a
motor. I can clearly see that too. They can clearly see he’s
pretty useless with the ball. I can see that too. But they
seemingly value his strengths more than I do. Hence my viewpoint
that tactics and selection have been depressingly negative.
