This can't be right, I was reliably informed by the rugby meeja
that there was an exodus of players the likes of which we've
never seen before

Especially considering that 7 of the leavers are short term
injury cover and 2 are retiring and 1 was nearly always injured
(in fact, I was really expective Lewies to retire), and 9 are
academy players.

I mentioned elsewhere that it will be interesting to see if
another club can keep Lewies fit. That would be another slight
on our S&C team.

Smith now our only senior 10 with Jev and Benson leaving. Likely
to spend time with England too - Furbank could also be with
England which leaves us incredibly thin there

I think we will see Josh Bellamy playing at 10. He has been
turning out at 10 and 15 for L-S and has looked okay.

Slightly concerned about losing Marcus and George with the next
10 cover basically being fairly untested at this level. It might
work though I guess, but I think I'd still prefer an experienced
reserve. Come home James Lang!

Did said meeja specify from which Quins team? 🤔

Wouldn't be surprised to see Marcus fall out of the England
squad if Quins don't have a good season next year, so the
problem may go away!

Not sure why. The current squad includes 5 Sale players, 4 Quins
and 2 Gloucester players (with another 2 Sale players and a Quin
mentioned in dispatches as unavailable).
The form of a player's club seems to have had very little impact

Possibly naively, I was hoping we'd have seen that philosophy
filtering through to this year's recruitment cycle more
strongly.
Of the incomings it's only Furbank who clearly walks in to and
improves our first XV and that's a worry for a side likely to
finish 9th.
I do think Dun is a decent pick-up as a competitive squad option
and Swiegers is a wildcard signing who may (fingers crossed)
turn out to be a beast, but on the face of it neither moves the
needle in terms of first XV quality.
Any further big announcement(s) seems unlikely now, but one or
two real quality additions would make a massive difference.
