We have some experience of Special Needs plus my first born is a
Clinical Psychologist running her own Department within the NHS.
So, when I say that the thought of Chis et al not cutting EK
some slack because of this is highly unlikely. For example, they
would have detailed someone to help her personally with
timekeeping but helping her train properly is more difficult.
Also, there is a very wide spectrum of Special Needs from mild
to life threatening and everywhere in between. I just get the
feeling that it was, Uni done, got my career going with Quins
help, now I'm on to bigger and better things. This in itself is
not something I have a problem with but she may have started to
become one of SCW's "energy sappers". Pure speculation, of
course.

I can only imagine that every possible effort was made to retain
EK. Elsewise would be insanity.

Granted, it's entirely possible she did become like that, but
the article doesn't seem to say that. I mean, the speculation is
also that they did anything to help her personally, we don't
know that either. And again, the comment about not training
properly doesn't seem to be backed up by the articles so far -
you mentioned this before, but the Telegraph piece purely
references her being late for training, not that she didn't take
it seriously. Where is that coming from? Genuine question, as
there are some specific accusations you've made that I'm sure
you didn't pull out of thin air.

I'm sure you can understand why giving the club the benefit of
the doubt is not everyone's first option here, for myriad
reasons.

From watching her this season at Quins, she certainly seemed to
have lost her mojo a bit.
For example - I think that in the first game after she came back
from her holiday in the UAE (from which she missed a few
matches), she made some really terrible decisions including a
really daft cross-field kick that resulted in an easy try for
the oppo.

If anyone is interested, her podcast with Jess Breach is up now
on various podcast platforms and they talk about her leaving
Quins. She has said she does not have a club to go to yet and
seemed to confirm she did not want to leave.

Mrs Yareet was stuck in Dubai at the same time as Ellie and I
think it's easy to downplay that experience. She wasn't just
unable to get home, there were frequent drone and missile
attacks combined with uncertainty about how you'd get out.
All of the group that Mrs Yareet was with came back with some
level of heightened anxiety typically meaning that sleeping was
difficult. Many of them ended up on medication for a period.
If (big "if" but not unreasonable) Ellie had a similar
experience, I can imagine she may not have been at her best to
play high-level sport.

I can imagine, how stressful for your wife or anyone that would
be, also having the authorties, pretending it was not happening
to the extent it was must not have helped, in the second gulf
war, it was much worse having scuds thrown at our staging area,
than being shot at in combat.
Also anyone with any common sense, soon works out what goes up,
must come down, if you intercept anything lots of debris comes
down, and some air defence ordnance will simply fail and fall to
earth.
