I asked co-pilot why Ellie was laaving (simply because it reads
       more than I do).
       It said:
Ellie Kildunne has left Harlequins because she chose to move on
at the end of her five‑year spell, saying she wanted to be
in the “right environment” for her development and to continue
being “unapologetically herself.” There is no indication of a
fallout or disciplinary issue — her departure appears to be a
personal career decision, with her next club still unconfirmed
       What the sources actually say
Across Sky Sports and RugbyPass, the reasons she gives are
       consistent:
She is “gutted to be leaving” but feels it is the end of a
       chapter.
She emphasises wanting to be in the right environment that
       values her as an individual.
She expresses huge gratitude to supporters, teammates, and the
       club.
Harlequins’ CEO praises her impact and legacy, with no
       suggestion of internal issues.
There is no official statement from Quins or Kildunne giving a
specific tactical, financial, or personal reason — only that she
is moving on and her next destination is not yet announced.
🏉 Context that may help explain the timing
While not stated as the reason, the wider context is relevant:
Harlequins Women have struggled for form recently, winning only
one of their last five matches.
The club is undergoing a period of transition on both the men’s
       and women’s sides.
This may have influenced her thinking, but this is inference,
       not confirmed fact.
       📌 Summary
       Confirmed:
She is leaving at the end of the 2025/26 season.
She wants a new environment for her personal and rugby
       development.
She leaves on good terms and with strong praise from the club.
       Not confirmed:
       Her next club.
Any deeper structural or cultural reasons.

Baldwin had signed somewhere else hadn't he? He may have changed
his mind, but I think he had jumped and not been pushed.

See as a wider point, this to me is an example of where AI
misses the nuance that a human may spot. Everything that has
been pulled through there is factually correct. What's not
noticed is the difference between Launchbury's send off and
Ellie's - not least that the official club statement doesn't
include anything from Ellie. Not sure I've seen that anywhere
when the player will be missed.

What ever the reason(s) cant we just say: Thankyou Ellie you
were and are a star, wish you all the best for the future
       whatever that brings!

I'll suspend a final judgment until I see where she goes next.
If it is a highly paid role overseas then that would be
       understandable.
If however it is another PWR club, I'd be very disappointed.
Ellie is the highest profile England women's player. She must
have a real, positive effect on ticket sales. In this case it
would look like the poor player retention history on the men's
side infecting the women's team as well.

Baldwin left to join Worcester to be closer to family (I believe
there was a long term illness in a close family member). That
was just before Worcester were shafted by the grifters that were
the previous owners, forcing the club to go under.
