There is very little coming out of our club that gives me any
confidence about the club or its direction of travel. This is
just another hammer blow as far as I’m concerned. But it does
start to clarify for those of us that had some hope of better
things. Expectations across the whole club are now firmly set
for further wilderness across both men and women.

The last published figure for the PWR wage cap was £220000, but
there are exclusions, around paying educational fees and
accommodation costs, and some personal sponsorship is allowed,
within fairly strict criteria.
So there is not a lot of wriggle room for clubs, unless someone
is in further education, and some hard choices probably come up.
So it is much easier to hang on to players like Lucy Packer, who
is undertaking a PHD and Wafer who is at university, than EK.

The last comment on her post tells a lot!
Things aren’t always within our control. Or words to that
effect.

Sale seem to be attracting a few high profile players. Perhaps
they’re offering very good incentives and she is from up north.
Please not to Salarycens.

Further to this theory, I believe that Ellie graduated last
summer. Could that mean she was covered for this season but not
26/27?

According to other sources at least 28 of Women's squad
leaving/retiring! Something clearly not right at this club!

I thought by the end, Marler didn’t want to stay - ie he was
wheeled out for one more match so the fans could say goodbye but
in reality he had no interest in playing that day

IIRC I read elsewhere that he wasn't totally happy with the club
at the time and basically had the choice of Traitors or
continue, unhappily, at Quins. He saw his future in media so
chose Traitors (he was never a traitor and gave his all for the
club). From memory of the article it was implied he couldn't
take time out for filming and return so he chose his future
career.
