Agreed. Chisholm’s also comments don’t come across to me as
particularly heartbroken

This is disappointing; she is a player who can do things that
literally no other player can do, and one of the most
recognisable faces in the women's game.
I'll reserve judgement until we see what the club is planning to
do. My best guess at the moment is that they're aiming for a
more structured game plan and skewing recruitment towards
strengthening the pack - which might be the right move.
We have to remember that the total PWR cap would more or less
pay the salary of a single international tighthead in the men's
game, and there may have been some tough choices to bring in the
players they think they need.
But she would be a big loss to any team.

If we have released her so she can pursue other opportunities
abroad, then fair enough (still not ideal).
If she has been released and rocks up at Sarries etc then I dont
care what the reason is, its a ridiculous decision.
Best back in the world and we let her go

It's utterly mystifying. Unless she was being paid or asking for
more money than the club could afford, I can't see any reason to
get rid of her. I guess we'll find out one day.

Maybe she wanted loads of cash. Maybe she wanted a deal that
allowed her to prioritise own brand self-promotion ahead of the
team. Maybe it's another major error by the powers that be. Who
knows.
