Yep the positions are deceptive.
Last season - 8 wins, 1 draw, 9 losses, -40 PD, 11 try bonuses
and 3 losing bonus points. 48 points total.
This season - 5 wins, 11 losses, -134 PD, 5 try bonuses, 1
losing bonus point. 26 points total.
Even if we win both our remaining matches with 5 points each
we'll end up miles off last season. Chances are we won't do
that, and the numbers at this stage are very ugly.

Yes, and last season was already the worst in a decade...

And one can speculate that living in London might be attractive
for overseas recruits at least.

Do many of our players live in London these days though? I
thought they generally lived out in the sticks within a
reasonable commute to Guildford.

Surely this is all because Wilson left just before the start of
the season, meaning the third year of the heralded three-year
plan had to be abandoned, and no replacement plan could be put
in place in the time available? Or so Gilmore argued (and
management bought).

London weighting is mainly a public sector thing, private
companies often say that they include in their employees normal
salary, which may or may not be true.
It is really intended in the public sector to help lower paid
workers, as using the Police as an example it is a flat rate for
every rank, of just below £7000.
