Is Joe Gray still there? Perhaps LS were already struggling and
the DR deal with Quins was clutching at straws? I mean, I really
don't know, just trying to read the runes.

He's the head honcho. DoR I believe now. He was head coach, but
the then DoR recently departed.

It’s a dreadful arrangement for all involved. The players are
not invested in playing for LS, it disrupts the rest of the LS
squad and our players are in another losing environment.
If we do anything like this in the future it has to be a proper
loan arrangement that will be far more beneficial fr all sides.

He is. It was the most scottish thing ever to announce that he
wasnt just staying, but effectively getting a promotion, before
relegation was decided. I wonder if wed make the same decision
this morning...

LS in the Champ are a part-time outfit. One addition I thought
the Quins Academy players brought, is that rugby is their
full-time job. [LS were a full-time outfit in years
pre-pandemic.]
Just for the record, starting with the league just closed, here
is their wins per season.
6,9,4,4,1,n/a,4,8,6,7,10,12*,14,10
........................................* actually came 3rd in
the league back in the the Premiership relegation/promo days.
IMO being part-time just isn't sufficient to compete in the
league.

As far as I remember, Bedford are a feeder team for a certain
other Prem team though.

Do they not have a partnership with Northampton, Pollock played
for them a couple of seasons ago.

Bedford do use saints players but its much more like the deal i
said we should have gone for with you guys in my first post.
Bedford- a quality semi pro team that supplements their squad
with a handful of saints players who are pretty much mainly at
bedford all season. They had 5 in their squad vs coventry and
those guys were consistently in the lineup before that game.
Scottish - a pants semi pro team that was seemingly on a mission
to give every quins academy player under the sun a game as well
as anyone who needed gametime. (E.g. We've had archie white,
green and lynagh all come in for one game for match fitness over
recent years never to be seen again. Bedford would never have
allowed that from saints)
I dont think its the concept of a semi pro model, or the
loan/strategic partnership thats an issue, its just implementing
them both very badly.
Also - talking about semi pro clubs - special mention to
chinnor as well. Mr easter has done wonders for them - and they
were rightly in the playoffs this year.
It will be interesting to see if lessons are learnt next year if
this continues. If, for example, we were able to take staples,
Clarke, cunninson, mcmillan, povey (off the top of my head) on
season long loans and theyre available to us all year and
consistently play (in a league where hopefully we are more
competitive) i could see that being beneficial for both sides.
But the current model surely cant continue.
