London Scottish relegated

After being defeated by Blackheath.
Will the dual registration deal still continue? Or will we look
to keep it at a Champ standard for our up and coming players?

The issue you guys would have is with who? Richmond arent
interested in the same kind of deal and I doubt blackheath would
be either. Which london based club would you send your players
to in the same numbers you've done with us?
For me personally, I think this deal has been a disaster. We
were told 3 seasons ago this was a vital move for us to develop
and push on - now we are relegated to n1. Did having access to
your players help us? Not really. Did the results get better? No
they got worse. Our win percentage in the seasons post the deal
is far worse than in the equivalent seasons pre covid.
For what its worth i personally believe there was a middle
ground deal that would have benefited both clubs. 4-5 DRS who
were only available to scottish and played with us all season.
Help with your players development and helped us. Instead we
became a feeder club, and a play thing for you chaps. Multiple
players sent over every week, players coming in for one game for
match fitness and then gone. Last season we ended up with 30
plus quins players pulling on a scottish shirt. It became
utterly ridiculous.
I had an interesting chat with one of the parents of a LS player
on the touchline last year - and he relayed how much it
destroyed our dressing room. Players didnt know whether they
were coming or going. Start one week - dropped the next for a
quins players who needed game time.
Now im not blaming quins for our relegation- far from it. We
have been absolutely dogsh*t this year and deserved to go. I
just hope that if this deal is to continue in n1, both clubs
learn from it and we end up with a model that helps both of us,
and your players development. But i think there needs to be
quite a bit of self reflection in that ls boardroom this summer
and working out what kind of club we want to be.

Blackheath thoroughly deserved the win, great travelling support
and dominated from the start. The Quins guys were pretty absent
throughout.

I don't pretend to have followed LS at all, but I agree that it
always seemed to me that it must be hugely disruptive to not
know who was in your available squad from one week to the next

I personally don’t think the partnership was that fruitful for
either side. We had a few players who’ve played for LS who’ve
made it into our first team, but their success was more just
about taking their chance through others injury here then being
polished at LS where they then couldn’t be ignored.
It also must be pretty crap to know at LS you could start and
play well one week, but because we’ve offloaded someone who HAS
to get minutes they are then dropped.
I’m surprised Ealing have never tapped us up for any potential
loans. I think if we are to loan any in the future it has to
basically be for the season with no recall save for injury at
the parent club, but once exercised can’t then return

I think thats a fair summary MQ. On both sides.
As for ealing - they dont really need to tap into the dr pool
really. They have what is an essentially an unlimited budget for
championship level. Theres not many players weve had come over
on DR deals that would be anywhere near an ealing xv really.

I guess quins might have expected some players to have more or
less stayed with Scottish all season but then we've had so many
injuries we've had to recall them

Sad to see them relegated but it has been on the cards for a few
seasons

There were so many blackheath fans there today that it felt like
a home game for them.
I think they announced the attendance as 2115 which would be the
biggest for a long time.

In other news Worcester beat Ealing Trailfinders 34-29 and
progress to the Champ final. If they were to win it would they
make a bid for Prem inclusion next year or do they not have the
finances/meet the entry requirements ?
