It is the APP, Sky and EE/BT take the broadcast feed from ITV
for live TV, and it is a decent Bitrate and 50 FPS, ITV X is a
compressed very poor bitrate and 25 FPS, on a good well set up
TV, it looks horrible.

Like I said, it's most certainly not horrible via the app on Sky
Q.

What TV do you have, and have you got the motion/ Clarity
settings switched on, which just make everything look like a
soap opera.

I help people set up Vlogs and podcasts, and having a properly
set up TV and Monitor are essential, as is having studio
monitors and really high quality headphones dacs, streamers and
headphone amps etc.
Also having a normal, what most people use setup is necessary,
80% of tv’s are so poor in relative terms that people would not
be able to tell the difference anyway, of the other 20% most are
not correctly set up and same applies.
Same with Headphones and speakers, most are very poor, people
actually like the sound of Bose headphones and the picture of
Hisense TV’s, or Sky glass TV’s, or think that Windows is better
than macOS, which is totally up to them.
So I probably notice things that most people don’t and again the
majority of people have nothing to compare it against.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and high quality TV ‘s and
Sound Systems is a very expensive rabbit hole to fall down.
But if you ever see a Top End Samsung or LG oled, that has been
correctly calibrated and set up, playing through a Apple TV box,
with a properly set up Sonos surround setup, you may change your
mind.
But you will certainly not see this at John Lewis or Curry’s.

It doesn't matter - I use the gift of vision. You said "the
motion on anything except my Apple TV box, is unwatchable". I
find that very hard to believe unless you've got a problem with
the stream or somewhere else in your setup. I didn't say it was
top quality - just that it's not horrible.

The Apple is far superior for 25FPS as it is one of two
streaming devices that actually is capable of true 25FPS, as I
said if you are happy with Sky Q great, I am very sensitive to
judder, and that is what you get with devices that don’t do
25FPS if you play ITV X on them.
I really don’t have a problem with any of my set up, the ITV X
stream is awful, but that is the same for everyone, if you can
see that depends on what you have and how it is setup, as I have
said if people like Hisense and Sky Glass, or any LCD TV’s that
is fine, but equally they are limited performance wise.
Perhaps look at this.

I have a Samsung top end tv with dolby sound bar and am quite
happy with what I get. I also now have Superfast Fibre...
