       Jake Murray -> Exeter

Harlequins can confirm that scrum-half Jake Murray will depart
at the end of the season to join Exeter Chiefs.
The 22-year-old moves on to pastures new after five years in the
senior set-up at The Stoop following his graduation into the
       Senior Academy in 2021.
Murray made his debut against Sale Sharks in March 2021 and has
gone on to represent the Quarters on 20 occasions at First Team
level across the PREM Rugby Cup and Gallagher PREM.
The scrum-half will return to Devon at the end of the season
after attending Exeter University during his time in the Senior
       Academy.
“After five years at Harlequins, it’s time for me to move on to
a new chapter in my career. Playing for the Club I grew up
supporting has been a dream come true, and something I’ll always
cherish and be incredibly proud of. To share a changing room
with players I looked up to growing up, especially Danny Care,
is an experience I’ll never forget,” said Murray.
“The Club has supported me throughout my journey, including my
time away studying at the University of Exeter and has given me
some hugely proud milestones to date, from the Academy to my
PREM Rugby Cup and Gallagher PREM debuts, along with pulling on
       the Quarters on 20 occasions.

“Of course, I would have loved to achieve even more during my
time at the Club, but nothing is ever guaranteed in professional
sport. I leave with great memories, valuable experiences, and
friendships that will stay with me forever.
He continued: “I’d like to thank everyone at the Club. The
players, coaches, staff and supporters for all their support
over the past five years. I wish the Club every success in the
years ahead and look forward to watching the squad continue to
       develop.
“On a personal note, I’m looking forward to the next chapter in
the South West with Exeter Chiefs. Thank you.”
Head Coach, Jason Gilmore added: “Jake has been a valued member
of our scrum-half group and wider squad during his time with
Harlequins and we’d like to thank him for all his efforts at the
       Club.
“The move to Exeter gives him the opportunity to return to an
area he knows well after spending time there at university, and
we understand the appeal of that for him personally and
       professionally.
“Everyone at the Club wishes Jake the very best for the next
       chapter at Exeter Chiefs.”

That's a shame, he's looked decent. Obviously Friday is ahead of
him, but thought he looked a decent prospect and worthy of more
       game time

The sheer cold hearted logic,Is that he is not as good as Friday
and older, and we have a very good 9 in Sam Marshall, coming
through the academy, who looks to have more potential.
When you get someone as good and as young as Friday is, it makes
life difficult for other young players in the same position.

Looks to have a bit of spark and can see him becoming a number
       two Prem scrum half elsewhere.
Can't blame him or the club. He'd be scrapping for third choice
with Townsend and at this point in his career he needs minutes.

Sensible for him to move on. He's not as good as Porter or
Friday, which means that he would only get gametime if one of
them was injured, and even then he'd be up against other 9s on
the books. If he's promised more games at Exeter, I wish him
       luck.

Having seen him play a handful of times for scottish im not
surprised. When friday was here (albeit only for a few games)
you could instantly tell he was different gravy and there was a
top player there. With Murray- not really. Im sure he has the
making of a solid pro but thats about it.
Says a lot that despite him being available on a dr all season
only time weve used him recently was an emergency winger - and
cant see him being in the 23 vs blackhesth this weekend despite
seemingly being available. If friday was was still with us, now
that would be a different story..

I recall that he played for Quins in a game and scored a nice
try, basically due to his speed.
I have a recollection that he is pretty quick.
