Ten years after his death, the Times has a big interview with
his mother discussing the possible reasons for his suicide. I
can't be the only one who thought that he died in a "normal "
car crash, as was generally reported at the time.
Unfortunately I don't know how to copy it here from behind the
paywall.

I haven't read it - that archive website hasn't worked on any

The news on that from the article is that Seb's death wasn't
attributed to suicide publicly on the wishes of his mum, Liz,
because of the stigma associated with it at the time. Still
incredibly brave to raise it now.
Only in the last year has she opened up about it. It's a very
thoughtful piece from Charlie Morgan and makes you think more
about the pressure pro players come under. It's not just fans,
social media, or coaches, but there's a strong chance they're
the only lad from their school 1st XV who 'made it' to any
degree. Even making it to having a pro contract is a huge
achievement. The advancement of mental health support in the
Prem seems utterly crucial in that context
