That would not be a problem, but World rugby have said that they
want the same ball for 7's and the full game to aid transition,
you are far to sensible to ever be employed by them.

Maybe (to aid transition) the sevens teams could also have a
full scrum. And back line. And play 40-minute halves. 🤔

I think making the standard ball in elite rugby one that is
harder to kick would not be a bad idea. It might mean there is
more running rugby and less kick tennis.
However, there are a few things I would put higher up the
priority list. Though I suspect my list does not match that of
World Rugby.
Though outside the professional game, I do not believe there is
a problem with the ball.
I would also claim, that there have been many more worse
decisions by the powers that be with regard to the laws.

change. However, I suspect players will have to recode their
"muscle memory" for dealing with the ball. Especially for the
place kickers, you spend hours day after day learning to kick
the ball just right, maximising how to get the power going
through your foot and into the ball, and now it all changes? I'm
sure they'll cope, but the transition may be somewhat
frustrating.

well yes exactly.
Nobody playing currently is going to want to change.
That doesn't mean it's not best for the game.

Or that it is a good idea, perhaps we should change the men’s
ball to a sevens ball so that it is harder to kick and easier to
catch.
