New Academy Intake

Eleven players are set to graduate into Harlequins’ Senior
Academy ahead of the 2026/27 season. The group – of which seven
are forwards and four are backs – will embed into the First Team
environment throughout pre-season in the summer months ahead of
next season.
The core group will continue to represent the Club after a
strong Under-18s campaign, in which they recorded six wins from
eight regular season fixtures, finishing the season 4th in the
NextGen Under-18s Academy League after a narrow Finals Day
defeat against Saracens.
Head of Academy, Chim Gale said: “We’re delighted to graduate a
talented group of Under-18s into our Senior Academy for the
2026/27 season and beyond. Each player has taken a unique path
to this point, supported every step of the way by their schools
and clubs, all of whom should be immensely proud of their
achievements. We look forward to seeing how these young men make
the transition from schoolboy rugby into the Senior Academy, and
to supporting them as they continue their development at
Harlequins.”
Lead Transition Coach, Matt Ferguson said: “Being offered a
place in the Senior Academy is a fantastic opportunity, and one
that each of these players has thoroughly earned. But this is
only the beginning - now it’s about how they take that
opportunity and, more importantly, how they maximise it.
“There’s no reason why this group can’t go on to make the same
kind of impact that Elliot Williams has in his first year. He’s
shown what’s possible through hard work, consistency and a real
commitment to improving every day. If these young players
continue to apply themselves, soak up as much information as
possible, compete relentlessly and embrace every challenge that
comes their way, they’ll give themselves every chance of
following a similar path.”
