Positives with Quins tinted specs

Loosehead
Hobson has emerged as a good player at loosehead cover. Baxter
is class & hopefully we’ll see more of Wenger next season.
Tighthead
Delgado now has a season of professional rugby in the bank.
Streater is another year older and has a few more games to his
name. Swiegers will hopefully have time to develop if Delgado
starts well
Hooker
Riley can run fast……
Locks
Elliot Williams is only 18 and looks the real deal. Browne &
Green have both gained experience.
Dunn will add ballast and Treadwell works really hard. Will be
better balanced with big lock next to him
Hybrid lock / back row
CCS is a very good impact player but also a good option in the
2nd row. Pettit is class
Back row
Carr has lots of exposure now and is still developing,
Kenningham is mr consistent, Tate Williams has had 1st team
exposure, Dombrandt is class. (concern that WEV has injuries
catching up with him)
Scrum half
Friday is class and has had lots of minutes. Porter hopefully
will come back refreshed
Fly half
Marcus is still a star (not a stellar season but put the right
team around him and he’s special), hopefully will see emergence
of new young player next season as 3rd choice who gets game time
Centres
Bradley has taken his chance, Waghorn will be back, Beard will
be back. Kerr & Kolade have experienced 1st team rugby
Wings / FB
Furbank joining (2nd playmaker will set
Marcus free), Murley is class, Cleaves to be fit and have a
proper pre season. Isgro to be a more experienced 15s player
All glass half full, could do a post on negatives.
Hope rumours of Tyrone leaving aren’t true.

I agree with all of the above and think we need more perspective
that we do have a solid bunch to work with.
Seb Driscoll also has had a few games off the bench and looks
like a promising back row prospect.
Josh Bellamy was really really impressive in the Prem Cup but
not sure what the plan is with him re: 10 or 15, but played some
lovely stuff.
Outstanding questions to me are mostly around what other depth
we might have in the back 3 (Cleaves, Murley, Isgro, David,
Furbank - any likely academy boys? Or Hyde/Anderson squad types?
or signings?), and what the situation at hooker is (Riley & Musk
do seem handy but neither seem to get a lot of gametime, and I'm
not sure on Walker's contract given that he signed a new one 3
years ago but nothing since...).

I'd add that David has really come into himself. He's a really
elusive runner, and get more support on his shoulder and we'll
get some better line breaks. Anderson proved himself committed
in that last game and handled Roebuck well, even though Roebuck
is one of England's first choice wings.
Get everyone fit (yeah, I know, it never happens) and we'd be
pretty solid, no excuses.

Can we merge them for David's attack and Anderson's defence?
Because Anderson isn't a premiership level winger, as
demonstrated by his 1 try from 6 starts across 3 seasons.

He's not a top winger, but I do think if we wanted him to score
more, we'd have to play him more. You can't expect someone to
come every now and then after playing at a lower level and score
against premiership teams.
But then we always need those back-up players on the books for
times like this when almost all our first and second choices
(and some of our third) are out.

Going off topic but in this week’s BBC pod, they talk about
wingers and scoring rates. I think it’s Danny who suggests that
the best international wingers are the best defenders and may
not score (as) much. He cites Daly and Nowell as two examples.
May was the other end of the spectrum - scored loads but
couldn’t defend at first. He became more of a regular when he
sorted his defence

Factoid. Alastair Campbell earns c£100,000 for his "The Rest is
Politics" podcast but the average podcaster gets c£25,000.

I would imagine the average podcaster earns close to nothing at
all as the vast majority of the millions of podcasters out there
have only about 3 listeners.
