Just that being unrealistic and saying things that you probably
wished you hadn’t, and keeping your job, is not something that
only happens at Harlequins.

Bloody hell Gilmore, he didn't even mention the band who were
trying their best to keep morale up. An absolute disgrace.

Look, I know there is a pervasive anti-Sanderson feeling on this
board but can you enlighten me what he’s done wrong there?
I don’t remember him making the quote but it basically seems to
be saying “we’ve refreshed the coaching team (in response to not
quite getting over the line for a couple of years) and everyone
is excited”.
As a comment at the start of the season, that seems pretty
vanilla.

It was a light hearted, tongue in cheek comment. But
fundamentally I agree with you - if as DOR you’re heading up a
losing team then it doesn’t really matter why you say, you’re
damned either way.
And yes, I could and do say the same about the players. They
need to start winning too!

The whole rugby side of the team, existing players, coaching,
recruitment, s&c etc has been a shambles for at least this
whole season and probably the one or two before. That's why
we're so fed up. Some of us have been thinking, and saying,
there are problems for a while and it's taken this denouement to
see some change actually happen. I'm not sure it's the right
change but at least it isn't wholeheartedly committing to an
obviously failing "plan".

Would he say that now, considering what the fate of the new
coaching team was, did the new team work. he appointed them.
My personal reason for picking Sanderson is just because he
comes across so poorly on tv interviews, and his hostile atitude
to Harlequins, i could go on, but won't.
