Not many people will be happy with where Quins are right now.
Supporters have every right to be miffed. However, seeming to
encourage others from not turning up to support isn't very...
       supportive?

Blindly falling in line with what?
There are indeed plenty of different types of fan from the
obsessive to the casual show up to the odd game - and indeed
those who don’t come at all but watch on tv and support Quins
       from a distance.
But I get the impression people on here generally are season
       ticket holders.
You called for people to vote with their feet - you didn’t just
say you personally wouldn’t be going, which would of course be
your choice and a choice people make for lots of reasons (money,
       time, team performance, whatever..)
Even during the biggest protests at ownership, management, etc
at football (for a more high profile example of passionate fans)
those fan groups don’t stop going to games.
So it’s not a question of judging your level or type of support
       - if you don’t want to go, that’s clearly up to you - but I’m
not sure many other people who’ve been going for years are going
to stop just coz we’ve gone back to being crap.
We’ve been 7th on average for the past 28 seasons…

If we're spending up to the cap and are probably paying big
bucks to Smith, Petti, and Furbank next season, among others I'm
forgetting, will we actually have much budget room to recruit
       top end players?

In the post match interview Jason said that there was a little
but of "wriggle room" for us to add players.
But - We are losing (or have lost) 3 "big name" players + Benson
       + 2 academy players
I suspect that a few other leavers will be announced and
usually, a few academy players get promoted.
We are bringing in 1 "big name". 1 squad player + 1 project
       player.
So - I would think that gives room for at least 1 big name +
       another squad player.

Being 7th on average is a wildly misleading stat. We're only 9th
this season because the league has fewer teams than for most of
that 28 years. Second last is a slightly more accurate way of
looking at things, or winning percentage, or league points per
game - basically anything except the league position in a league
where the relative value of a position has changed over time. We
have rarely been this bad since promotion (where we were 7th in
a 12-team league, comfortably mid-table and with 10 wins all
       season).
       Just for a laugh
       2006/07: 10 wins from 22, +65 PD - 7th place with 51 pts (2.3pts
       per game)
       2007/08: 12 wins from 22, +40 PD - 6th place with 63 pts (2.86
       ppg)
       2008/09: 14 wins from 22, +132 PD - 2nd place with 66 pts (3
       ppg)
       2009/10: 9 wins from 22, -64 PD - 8th place with 46 pts (2.09
       ppg)
       2010/11: 9 wins from 22, +98 PD - 7th place with 52 pts (2.36
       ppg)
       2011/12: 17 wins from 22, +137 PD - 1st place & champions with
       75pts (3.4 ppg)
       2012/13: 15 wins from 22, +107 PD - 3rd place with 69 pts (3.14
       ppg)
       2013/14: 15 wins from 22, +72 PD - 4th place with 67 pts (3.05
       ppg)
       2014/15: 10 wins from 22, -70 PD, 8th place with 49 pts (2.23
       ppg)
       2015/16: 10 wins from 22, -36 PD, 7th place with 55 pts (2.5
       ppg)
       2016/17: 11 wins from 22, +6 PD, 6th place with 52 pts (2.36
       ppg)
       2017/18: 7 wins from 22, -161 PD, 10th place with 36 pts (1.63
       ppg)
       2018/19: 10 wins from 22, +16 PD, 5th place with 56 pts (2.55
       ppg)
       2019/20: 10 wins from 22, -43 PD, 6th place with 51 pts (2.32
       ppg)
       2020/21: 13 wins from 22, +139 PD, 4th place with 71 pts &
       champions (3.23 ppg)
       2021/22: 15 wins from 24, +93 PD, 3rd place with 80 pts (3.33
       ppg)
       2022/23: 9 wins from 20, -5 PD, 6th place with 51 pts (2.55 ppg)
       2023/24: 9 wins from 18, -34 PD, 6th place with 51 pts (2.83
       ppg)
       2024/25: 8 wins from 18, -40 PD, 7th place with 48 pts (2.67
       ppg)
       2025/26: 3 wins from 14, -210 PD, 9th place with 16 pts (1.14
       ppg)
with 4 matches to go this is shaping up to be our worst season
since the one that got us relegated. Our mean league position
since promotion is 5th/6th (5.58) with most of our regular
league seasons being 22 matches. Our mean points per game before
this season is 2.65, meaning in a 22-match season we would
average 58 points and in an 18 match season, 47 or 48. That's at
least 31 points more than we have right now, for the record.
In terms of points per game, even if we get the full 5 points
from each of our remaining matches this would still be worse
       than every season bar 2017/18.
In fact, that's a fun realistic goal: can we earn the 7 points
required from the next 4 matches to get our points-per-game
ahead of 2017/18? Who says we don't have anything to play for,
       eh?
Since the beginning of the 2024/25 league season, we've played
32 matches and won 11 of them. Since beginning of 2025, we've
won 8 matches from 23 in the league. Since the beginning of
2026, we've won 1 from 6. It is dismal any way you slice it, and
significantly worse than practically every other season since
the one where we ended up getting relegated. This a long way
       away from normal for Quins.
I don't have a problem with people choosing the continue to go
to matches and show their support, I think it's admirable, but
you are absolutely kidding yourselves if you think this is
business as usual for a Quins fan.

I have been a Quins supporter since late 90s and been a season
ticket holder since 2009/10. Even during the relegation season,
Quins showed some fight and bottle, plus a lot of potential with
       new recruits and young players
This season, actually last weekend, was the first time I woke up
thinking can i really be motivated to drive the 90 minutes from
home to watch Quins take another 50+ beating and drive back
again. I did of course but it is feeling more like a chore and
obligation rather than out of excitement and drive.
I know the beginning of next season I will be excited to go
again with the promises of a turnaround and potential for
silverware in the Premiership and/or the Challenge Cup.

Fair enough was more making the point that we’re not a top 4
team and I’m not sure it’s the time for mass fan protests.
And yes the maths is all skewed by the amount of teams etc. it
was more the point that if you’re looking for a playoff smashing
team we’ve have not historically been the right place to go.
But agree this is our worst season since relegation - stadium
atmos not as bad as it was under Kingston so far which keeps it
       being a fun day out.

I have to agree about it being a chore at the moment. It does
feel like 4-5 hours wasted, as opposed to being something to get
       excited about.
