I don't think that explains the error count or the structural
       issues in attack and defence.
On the ref, watching the replay and yeah he's not very good tbh,
both sides benefiting from some real nonsense. On another day
I'd be ticking about some extremely consequential decisions that
led to tries but eh, it's a sideshow

Marcus was pretty good? One dropped ball aside, he was snappy in
attack, didn't overplay his hand or waste possession, set up a
few breaks, kicked very well in all aspects, and was a tiger in
defence. Short of making everyone else's tackles and catching
the ball for them, I'm not sure what you could expect.
Meanwhile, Benson on multiple occasions did a good thing
followed by a terrible thing and gets highlighted as being one
of our best players. Funny old world.

Incredibly our joint top tackler yestersday, and missed none:
       Tackles Completed:
       Harlequins
       Marcus Smith -13
       Harlequins
       Jack Kenningham - 13
       Harlequins
       Bryn Bradley -11
       Tiger is right!

Joe Marler certainly seemed to think changes need making at the
top. Maybe they do, maybe those at the top can learn from this
experience. Pretty sure which of those the club is going to
       choose.
We need to sort out this ridiculous S & C situation. It's not
like it's new, for a number of years we seem to have more
injuries than similar teams by the end of the season (OK, maybe
some of that was hiring senior (old) players likely to
breakdown). The knock on effect is if it's effectively brand new
combinations every couple of weeks due to injury, then players
don't have that instinctive feeling for where support is or what
the ball carrier will do next (unless it's Marcus who doesn't
       even know himself!).
We know that properly motivated, this team can perform well. In
isolated games this season they've punched well above their
weight. So who is responsible for providing that motivation?
Who can give the team that wolfpack closeness that Saracens used
to have? Maybe they need a bit less time being flogged in
training and a bit more time down the pub being reminded who
Harlequins are! (yes, I know I'm showing my age suggesting
that!). Take them all to Thorpe Park for the day, whatever, but
get that feeling of belonging, of pride in the shirt and
       fighting for each other back.
Recruitment needs to be better. More focussed on what we need,
not what suddenly pops up cheap on the market! Yes, it sounds
great saying "we secured the services of rugby legend Jamie
Roberts", but then he turns out to be more bell end than legend!
Chris Ashton the same. In fact the best we've bought in recent
memory was Andy Gomarsall, and no-one expected him to be the
servant to the club he turned out to be.

Nah. Even when we've been rubbish we've always played pretty
nice attacking rugby, the good years are when we can defend.
At the moment we are horrible both sides of the ball.

Really not sure where the Benson love came from yesterday. He
was directly responsible for two of their tries.

This season is a write off. We need to see how we go next season
at the start for a fair yard stick of Gilmore in my view.
We are crap there’s no denying that. Square pegs in round holes
currently, but let’s just forget this season

Bryn’s breakthrough is one of the few positives this season.
Same for Waghorn last season. Neither are anything close to
being a like-for-like replacement for Andre, but I think both
have the potential to be future test players.
On the signings in general, I would hope Furbank, Dun and
Swiegers are not the only incoming players. I like all three, we
simply need more players of the requisite standard.

I think talk about a "like-for-like replacement for Andre", of
which there has been much, is somewhat fanciful and not really
the issue. Who is there that would fit the bill? And we only
finished 6th in his last 2 seasons with us.
Not having a recognised 12 is not the same thing.

Oh look Quins falter at the last hurdle again. We are really
poor this season at the last 20 minutes of matches. Either our
reserves aren't good enough or we're not fit enough. Definitely
a problem that needs attention. Ref was a joke too, how did
Northmore give away a penalty trying to catch the ball (until
the Sale player ran into him he was in a great position)
