we've always been mid table so why do we expect consistent top 4
       finishes.

breaks during internationals. Surely any half decent coach could
have overseen some sort of change / improvement. Instead, after
promising early showings, we've got steadily worse. It also
conveniently ignores his pre-existing role in charge of defence.
It's not like he was parachuted in, new to the club, for the
opening game of the season. He has played an integral role in
the fall in standards and has been completely incapable of
overseeing any improvement - quite the opposite. While
overseeing the ongoing decline he had regularly sought to
absolve himself from any blame and put out dreadful messaging

Just on the first bit, we’re absolutely awful at the moment and
I loathe it - my point sometimes made about our history is
simply to remind those with short memories or inform those who
maybe haven’t been around the Stoop for long that it’s not like
we’ve had a Man Utd post Ferguson fall from league-dominating
       brilliance.
It doesn’t mean I think we should settle for average. Mind you
even average would be an improvement at the moment.

All this talk about coaches and plans. Look what happened half
way through the season when Paul Gustard was sacked and we went
on to win the cup. The players took control then and need to
       step up more now.

Unfortunately I think the fact that worked - wonderful fluke and
the best day of my life that going to the final was (sorry
Mrs..) - has caused no end of problems since because it looks
like we haven't had someone strong enough or separate enough
from that group to really take control of the players and impose
       some structure.

To be fair, there is some concern regarding some of the players
atitude, but that season we had a better team and far fewer
injuries and those injuries we did have, worked out for us, by
making the team stronger, with the style of play we used.
And we had the rub of the green, we played better the following
season, but lost a couple of really close matches.
This years problems are far deeper than just the players.

It was also a far better squad in terms of some first choices
and definitely in terms of depth - from 1-15.
The replacement of that squad has been the most frustrating
aspect for me. Similar post 2012.

Given all that I’m amazed the atmosphere isn’t worse, not to say
       that it’s a bad thing.
But we seem nowhere near the Kingston walkout horrors despite
being notably worse than during all that.
