Good work on putting the effort in MQ. I'll be frank, I dislike
your relentless humourless negativity because I am a relentless
and funny/unfunny fan who finds your approach a bit depressing

Of course I'm using selective scorelines. That's the point. You
did the same by looking at this weekend's results in isolation.
The fact remains that Sale got absolutely butchered this weekend
by the team that also absolutely butchered them much much
earlier in the season. Sale are a bad team that are less likely
to get smashed than the other 3 being mentioned, which is why
they're the highest in the table despite only having 3 wins, but
there's no evidence that "nothing to play for" is the reason
behind it when they get smashed. On both occasions against
Saracens, weakened Sale teams with a tactical approach that
simply fed the opposition served up a humiliating defeat. The
league situation doesn't have anything to do with it.
But hey well done on ignoring literal paragraphs of evidence
about 4 teams in favour of laser focusing on some matches Sale
lost that were closer.

Finally read this. Good work MQ. Thank you.
My big takeaway is that Laurie and the club seem to agree with
my vision that we stick with youngsters, recruit minimally,
next season is a building phase, and the following season we
will see what this group of players can produce.
You and I, MQ, both visionaries 😁
One comment above that I heavily disagree with is the idea that
Waghorn is fragile. He's young, plays an attritional game, and
gets injuries. It happens. Cut the guy some slack. I think he
and Bradley will cover 12 for us very well.

To be clear, I am hugely excited by Waghorn's potential, but he
has had several injuries already and has repeatedly been out for
longer than we'd have expected, plus has on multiple occasions
gone off injured early in matches. I think calling him fragile
is fair - he's spent most of the last year picking up injuries
and is currently out for the rest of the season.
I hope with a change in S&C and another full preseason behind
him, that these injuries can be a thing of the past, but as it
stands his fitness makes him a bit of a gamble in the scenario
of him being one of the two 12s moving forward.

By that metric, 80% of our squad are fragile!
We have an issue with S&C. If it were one player being
constantly broken, I'd agree the issue is with the player. The
level of injury we're carrying, much of it seemingly non
playing, points to a different issue.

Even with our injury list, I think the frequency of his injuries
and the lengths of the layoffs make him an outlier. I think he's
had 4 different injuries this season and has managed only 5
appearances for a total of 192 minutes of rugby. Most of our
squad isn't like that, thankfully.

They are the responses you'd expect from someone at the helm of

I'd go further and say his responses sound like that of a
politician, and that's exactly how I see him. The injury and
pitch condition excuses are frankly laughable. We've been an
absolute shambles for at least 2 seasons, and his answers really
give me very little confidence that the situation will change in
the near to mid future. We've barely won a league game in 12
months, and been humiliated frequently.

LD speaks well, there is nothing else to add
I have paid for 3 memberships since 2010, I have renewed for
next season, I have never been more despondent at any point in
the last 16 years of those memberships regards the direction of
Quins and my overall time of supporting them which includes
relegation. The club is completely uncompetitive in a
financially controlled environment where we are apparently
spending to the salary cap. Lots of our competitors are not even
spending to the cap, we have won 3 games in the 'Prem' this
season, the last win at home was Newcastle ( I think was Oct or
Nov I can't be bothered to look up ).
Nobody seems to have taken accountability for this utter, utter
mess
